When The Time Comes

A kind of prog-pop song, almost nine minutes with vocals and a single chord progression.

Pretty emo lyrics, and I'm a terrible singer, sorry. lol.

Lyrics:

Why can't he feel the same
How can he know the shame
What will he be alone
Where does he belong so that

When the time comes
He will feel whole
When the chance comes
He will be complete

Dead silence in his musings
Shame to plague his pride
Hues of his silhouette shine
On to no one now

When the time comes
He will feel whole
When the chance comes
He will be complete

He has all that he needs and he couldn't beg for more
A mind of silver and a heart of gold and all else unaccounted for
He sits in awe and wonders why he can't achieve what he wants most
Time flies by as he lies down and cries until the time

Comes to overwrite what yearning has ever taken place
Finally meeting someone and getting to know their face
Holding one another deep inside a loving embrace
An experience he'd die for

When the time comes
He will feel whole
When the chance comes
He will be complete

(Instrumental section)

When the time comes
He will feel whole
When the chance comes
He will be complete (x2)

Why can't I feel the same
How can I know the shame
What will I be alone
Where do I belong so that

When the time comes
I will feel whole
When the chance comes
I will long for more

Quite good!

The first 2 minutes of this song really has a strong floyd vibe that I was really digging, the pace picks up quite a bit after that and, oddly enough, reminds me of some of Katatonias stuff. The vocals were alright, not great, not horrible, just OK.

I can't help but feel they may benefit from better compression and maybe different use of reverb to make it feel like your voice is more in the room with the other instruments.

Anyways, not bad!

Regards,
Daniel

Kor-Rune responds:

Thanks! I'll learn better compression techniques and reverb management. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

You've Improved

Even I will agree about the vocals being wack, although the lyrics aren't bad at all. I bet you MilkMan-Dan and a few other guys would love to take a whack at singing this one... myself included. I love the original and would like to listen to the updated instrumental version of this song.

And by the way... it's great to see you throwing out such an excess of tracks. You have been improving both your guitar and your production skills. When the Time Comes is definitely worth any Negrounder's listen any day of the week, whether they're itching for a cheap-shot against emo music or not (given some lyrical tweaks, this song can get out of that stereotyped territory). Keep on chugging... even a grizzled sucker like Bad-Man appreciates your dexterity.

Kor-Rune responds:

Thank you!

Yeah, the lyrics are boring and generic pop radio lyrics, I was planning on changing the good bulk of them.

I certainly am positive I'm a horrible vocalist, hell, my voice isn't even developed all the way, so I'm glad to have anyone else change up the sing and/or change the lyrics, and post their shot. I feel this track still has more work to be done to it.

I'm trying my best to start instead of working on just compositional skills, also production skills. They are hard. :( But at least they are improving, thank you!

Thanks again for the review!

Good Pace

This song is really cool, and I really like that solo you have in the middle it's pretty epic. The vocals could improve a bit, I felt that some of the refrains needed more power, but overall the singing was pretty good. Great song and keep making more!

Kor-Rune responds:

Thanks man! I'll be sure to put more power in the necessary mellow parts next song. Now that I think about it, it just sounds kinda weak with reverb thrown on it.

Thanks for the review!
