Sancta Maria! turn thine eyes -
Upon the sinner's sacrifice,
Of fervent prayer and humble love,
From thy holy throne above.
In joy and woe - in good and ill -
Mother of God, be with me still!
-Edgar Allen Poe

I took the beginning of "Once upon a moonlit eve" and turned it into a song, enjoy!

Very good work, it is rare by these time to see what I may call "Real Music". Your work realy is impressive and you sure have a real future in music (Or a real present? I dont know about you...)

You sure are my discovery of the year and I will be looking for more of your exelent work.

PS: Are you French? If yes, tell me so, this will ease communication (For me at least). I am no "Français de France" But more a French Canadian (Shame on me XD) .

I looked up on you as well and I felt so happy for you.
It was a nice surprise to hear that poem arranged into "Once upon a moonlit eve", Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorite authors and you are one of my favorite composers. Couldn't get any better than that.
Miss Crayton has such a beautiful voice, she did amazing working with you.
It's so nice to hear something really worth of the classical section here in NG. I've been waiting for months to listen to something like this.

Boy, isn't Julliard doing wonders with you.

5/5, 10/10, Fav'd, instant download. Keep up the good fight.

Author's Response:

Ms Crayton has an amazing voice and I was thrilled that she premiered the piece, the singer in this recording is in fact my friend Elizabeth whose beautiful dark mezzo-soprano voice is very well suited to the range. I also thought it'd be nicer in when recording to put together a small string orchestra instead of just quartet.

Thanks for everything Fuoco, your music is sounding amazing and your support means the world!

When I looked you up on their nifty little web-site, this came up as recently performed. I was gonna' bug you for a copy of it haha.

This is bloody brilliant, you still have to teach me how to be a friggin' genius.
If you've got a copy, I'd love yo have a look at the sheet music for this - so much to learn.

Congrats, 100/5, download, and a nifty gold star. *

Though I may have just officially joined, I must say that I have been an ardent fan of yours for quite some time, Simon F, and this piece is powerful, moving, evocative... there is no shortage of good things I can say about it.

From the first time the strings come in to the final fading notes, I was fixated. The tone quality and color is rich and lush, with harmonies striking soft and pleasantly on the ears,, and the vocalist (who is she?) certainly emotes a wonderful passage (certainly out of context with Poe's usual milieu) and leaves the listener spell-bound.

Unfortunately, I am not well-versed enough in music theory to offer any constructive criticism, but I still thoroughly love this piece.

The vocalist is my friend Elizabeth, a really amazing mezzo-soprano. Your comments are much appreciated and thanks for listening!
