For those of you who like to use the audio portal for ambiance tracks, try this on for size. I hope y'all like it.

EDIT 5/14/09: I found the whole Adobe Soundbooth score and mixed it. So this is the full length mix of Haunted. Enjoy.

Good but...

...I am seeing, most certenly an smaching similarity with the background music of a small game named "DEFCON"... Yep, the more I listen to it, the more som part seems have an base line of music with it, but with maybe some times violins and wispers there and there... If it is just me, well it is odly odd...

Anyways, I dont realy care, it most certenly makes my day and it is not exactly the same, so I cant blam this, keep up the good work, and i hope to see more!

SilentCobra responds:

Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. Thanks for the 9 and non-blam vote. Never really played "DEFCON" before, so I have no idea what it is that you are talking about. Oh well, thanks for the review.

Thanks, I really was just trying to do some ambiance for those who might want to use stuff like this in horror submissions or something. I'm really hoping I can see this in multiple Halloween submissions this year. That would be so awesome!

Sppoky into deep depths.

This piece sounded so cool. I like how it started out with the creepy chime sounds, but it as it kinda mellowed out at the end and became vibrantly softer. Overall, it was very creative and definately sends some chills down your spine. The only problem I had was that it seemed more like a bunch of sound effects mixed together instead of a flow of a song. Anyway, keep up the great work!

Trust me, you're very lucky having reviewed this as it is now than what it used to be. Right there in the middle is what it was originally, just a 26 second loop really. So once I found the score, I thought, "I knew I had this around here somewhere, now I can mix this and throw it into the Audio Portal." So all in all, be glad you reviewed it as it is now.

Very well done

Although sparse, it is not ill-conceived in the 'haunted' manner you were aiming for. I've heard a few submissions lately going for this and they fall short of the mark comparitively. Your 27-second loop is not repetitive at all by any means whatsoever, and contains no gimmics or cliche'd-type inserts. The basic concept is executed nicely and efficiently, without mindless clutter, and I sat through 10 replays (I never review loops without less) and was never aggravated at all. Heh.
Overall, not too bad! Not too bad at all. Liked it.

SilentCobra responds:

Hey, you should've seen this when it was in production. It was nearing like 17 MB in size, and I was like "oh shit, the audio portal only takes 8 MB. Damn, I gotta fix this somehow." So this is the outcome of that fix. hehe ^_^ Thanks for the 10 Krev.

Well done, I see potential

I think this piece sets the perfect mood for virtually every build up horror scene. Ominous, but not audacious - a masterful balance of tension and subtlety that does justice for any dark cinematic situation. Better still, it loops very well, I wouldn't be able to tell if I heard this in a movie.

Wow, thanks Tails. I thought it did that as well. I don't know why some people are griping just because it's short, it makes no sense to gripe about the length if you ask me. Anyway, thanks again.
