Electronic - House

Author Comments

Hey everybody! After a long period of "writers" block, I got around to finishing my progressive house track (this one). So let's get started, eh? ;)

NOTE: This is an NG cut, so intros and endings have been changed from the original mix. Also quality has been reduced (160 Kbps), while the original is (320 Kbps). (Sorry I had to do it I can actually post this here on NG)

- I've been doing a lot of experimenting with filters and pads lately and I found that mixing white noise with a pad really changes a lot of things.

-This is probably the track that I used the most instruments on (6 Polysonic Synths, 4 Drum machines, 2 Samplers).

-I also was working up on the kick drum in this one and I discovered that a high-pitched shake offset just before a kick drum hit, sounds awesome (Thank you ReGroove mixer :P).

-Again with the stabby chords (I know, played out, right?), but I decided to take on a different approach than just the ordinary 1/8th note approach. I listened to a lot of music by Thomas Schwartz and if anyone takes a listen to him, you can definately hear the substance of him in this track.

Enjoy the tunes! Comments and rates are VERY MUCH welcome! :)

Production Notes:
-Time Spent: 12-13 days (Most of it was just digressing with some other tracks)
-Program used: Reason version 4
-Samples used: Reason Sound Bank and xfrscd01 (Xfer)
-Influences: Thomas Schwartz (Jupiter Calling) and Deadmau5 (Jaded)

*I used Propellerhead's Reason 4 for this production (No VSTs used :P)

This song is very relaxing and chilling, When I hear it, all my troubles are gone. I close my eyes, sit back in my chair and forget everything. Not many songs can do this, but this is one of them. Thanks fo the song dude. 5/5 and 10/10

Oh my gawd~

This song is amazing. I play it when I come home from work and it makes the job demons go away. I thank you for making such a fantastic piece that can aid me in that endeavor.

It was decent, but...

It felt almost as though it was a stripped down version of Darude's Sandstorm at the first, then it began to be a bit repetitive. There wasn't a whole lot of change other than some minor tweaks to the harmony, which felt too much like a loop, although you did ad new instruments here and there, it wasn't frequent enough to give change, and those instruments gave me a headache. One thing you did well was create different zones of the music, though they weren't a perfect length, they had a very nice tone change. Overall this deserves a solid 8/10.

...not hip hop..i can see u kno alotta bout trance tehcno n shit nd thats cool..i can respect that..but u don kno shit bout hip hop homie u have no idea the spirit that goes into it but its arite..we a rare breed ~1~

BrokenCrossfader responds:

I understand your passion for Hip-Hop, it is the same i share for House music. I can totally respect that, but it also seems you dont understand the soul that House music brings to other people like me. The expression of stories and feelings without the use of words is something that only a "rare breed" can understand and interpret.

No disrespect... For I am open-minded to all music... except country... Screw that haha
