My school's Heritage Night is coming up, and here's what i put together to introduce to some people.

Perc, Cello, 2 Violins, Flute

I haven't done a decent classical piece in a long time x3 So, hopefully this is good C:

Also, couldn't think of a name, so this'll do, yes?

-Aeris

P.S. I might add more later.

EDIT: Lowered the volume to get rid of the clipping... My project was being retarded and wouldn't let me turn down the volume. Also added a timp.

very nice.

It lacks epicness.
in that the cello needs to be doing more than half notes (or whatever the poor cellist is doing) once it picks up, especially at the end
have you heard Irish Legend? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYely-
I-beo

It never builds to what I was expecting, especially for something of Irish style.
(All Irish music has epicness. This one does too, it just needs more)

Needs a wayyy better ending. This is why it's lacking epicness

Aeris responds:

in my opinion, not all music requires "epicness" as much as, in this case, to just try to make you dance, thus the jig style. Indeed, I agree my music is definitely not up to par to Robert Kerr's song, yet it's important to remember that olden jigs were often just made up as they go, and thus it's not going to be amazing.

Another thing is that Old Irish bands usually used the bagpipe as a main instrument, in which the bass note was never too exciting and consisted of mostly droning throughout the whole song.

As a composer, it's important to take on more goals than to be but only "epic." Not every good song has to be "big and powerful." I personally find the ending quite fitting, as I'm sure any Irishman would say that traditional music often ends dryly compared to far west music.

It seems that you're most likely a cellist, and most likely in high school... 11th grade i'm guessing? I assure you that no cellists were harmed in the making of this song :] It's all electronic.

The fact that you say "all irish music has epicness" tells me that you have never really heard real irish music.
