I got bored, and my brother was playing Oblivion on the 360, so I got the theme stuck in my head and tried to track it down online. I couldn't find any good MIDIs or other sound files that had the theme, so I decided to make my own. A friend of mine recommended Sony Sound Studio, so I gave it a shot for some editing after working on it in Finale.

Programs used:

Finale 2008
Sony Sound Studio 9

This is my first Audio Submission for anything really, so I would appreciate some constructive criticism please. ^^;

Very nice.

I've always LOVED TES, and this is a good song. but one question, why the hell does everyone keep talking about kevin bacon?

I think I hear Morrowind's theme song in there...

Anyway, this song needs a little more strength in the beginning. Not a lot, just a little. The ending is kind of weak as well, and there's a slight silence between 2:13 and 2:16. That's not good, there should have been a transition between the two.

All in all, it's a pretty good song, it just needs some work, but what am I to say? I haven't made any music submissions at all.

It sounds a bit more like Nerevar Rising, doesn't it? I've been looking for ways to improve my audio submissions, but I'm stuck waiting until I have the cash to get a better program. I'd rather actually pay for it.

I don't want to be a jerk but...

I have to agree with XxBloodbanexX. For starters, the song just sounds somewhat dead. The majority of it was fairly unrecognizable. Part of it isn't your fault, the sounds are pretty crappy. But it really is a very faint shadow of what the song was.

My resources are a bit lacking, so I can understand that the quality was a bit crappy. All I had was Finale (which is really for sheet music, not for MIDIs) and SoundForge (which was just there to resample the song at 44100Hz). I'm planning on getting a bit of an upgrade before taking another crack at this song to see if I can improve it at all. Thanks for the criticism. :3

huh?

I couldn't hear anything that even resemble the oblivion theme :S But for being your first submission it's cool.
