I would like to thank Bad-Man-Incorporated for recommending TwilightNecrosis for vocal duties and for listening to my early mixes.

And I would also like to thank TwilightNecrosis for his time and his brutal vocals.

(Also..Since I'm not as good as Chuck Schuldiner and Rick Rozz I had to improvise the solo's.)

EDIT - 7/6/09 - EQ/Bass/Guitar Changes
EDIT - 8/27/09 - Mix is +7.40 DBs louder

"Great!"

date: October 12, 2009

Death are possibly one of my favourite bands ever. My only gripe would be the nriff after the first chorus is played a bit wrong. There like a second half to it that i didnt hear.

Ah..The riff at the 32 second mark?

Yeah, I know.I was supposed to tremolo pick that part.I was learning the song as I was recording it and I never got that riff right.I sorta know how to correctly play it now.Its quite a weird tremolo picking riff that's for sure.

Hopefully with my new Death cover that's coming out soon, I won't fuck up as much. lol

"Flawless cover"

Score: 10 / 10
Summary: Flawless cover
Review: This is a great cover.

Few people on NG pull of this kind of singing technique, and they usually force it way too much, but this sounded great, you really pulled it off. I think the EQ was done well, nothing overpowers anything here.

Instruments, flawless. Really, I can't find anything I didn't like. Great drums, great guitar, just great. I haven't heard the original, but the instruments were played well, and it was mixed well, and... Wow.

"Cool"

Although the vocals may not to be my taste, I can appreciate the skill needed to pull them off. While I would have made the vocals slightly louder compared to the rest of the track, at least I can understand them, which is my usual complaint with songs like this.

As for the instrumentals - I LIKED them! While I haven't heard the original to compare this with, I really like what you have done with it. I can't really find fault listening to this piece alone and even if I were to compare it with the original, I think most of the fun of doing a cover is putting your own spin on something so I would probably still like this.

Good stuff.

Author's Response:

I guess you're not the only one who thought the vocals should be louder.I'll be sure to make them louder and upload a new version later on.

And you are right, the most fun that came from this was improvising the solos.I had to get into the mindset of two different guitarists. It was a cool experience. And on top of that, this cover helped me become better at doing leads.

Thanks for the review Coop!

"Vocals need improving.."

date: August 29, 2009

I have only one complaint, and that is the vocals. In a song like this, you need the vocals to impose themselves a bit more, as right now they just seem to fade away into obscurity.. I'm not quite sure if this because the TwilightNecrosis didn't do a good job or if the vocal track isn't loud enough..Either way, something isn't right...

Other than that, top marks. The instruments were all fantastic, especially the solos. There's nothing else I can say about them, great work.

"Quite good."

date: August 28, 2009

I'm not really into songs like this, but this one is better than a lot of ones I've reviewed lately. Not bad.

I've never heard the original, but it seems like the song you decided to remix had quite a few catchy melodies to it. Great instrument quality too, and the vocals were excellent. My only complaint is that that the song still needs to be louder.

The transitions and structure didn't impress me over here. It just seems like a collection of catchy guitar riffs. Each melody had a different tempo and rythm to it and it felt too random. You get points for variety, but there's too much randomness here. I liked the intro and the ending, though.

The drums were excellent, had great samples, and were extremely varied and fit with the song. Good job over here, the drums were flawless.

In all, an OK cover. Feels too random (unless it's supposed to be like that or something...), and the song needs to be louder, but the instruments and samples were great, and so was the variety. Good job.

Author's Response:

Yeah, the original song has some weird arrangements as far as structure goes.As for the melodies /solos that I added in, I made them different so that you got the idea that there were two different guitarists soling. The first guitarist had more of a Pentatonic style while the other guitarist had a more Harmonic minor shreddy style.

BTW I can't make the song any louder or else it will start to clip.
