I've been reluctant to submit pieces that I've written for studying purposes, because I've found that the audience at Newgrounds tends to enjoy more modern film-esque tracks. I am pretty deep into both (what I consider) left and right sides of music. Here's is a look at my personal studies.

Here is the first movement to my piano sonata in G minor. It's quite fiery, and I consider it to be a cross between the styles of Beethoven and Rachmaninoff with some modern streaks swirled into the mix. Regardless, the form is quite standard- the only modification I've made is in the recapitulation. Bonus points to whoever can name what I've done to change the form!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sonata form, it is (essentially) an A B A form piece, where the B section develops themes from the A section. The B section (development) beings at 1:30, and the final A' section (recapitulation) occurs at 3:26, for anyone who gets lost!

As always, reviews are much appreciated, especially reviews that are constructive. As much as I love a compliment, I'd prefer any constructive suggestions if you have them to offer!

Very nice sonata.

I can't I've heard anyone who composed anything better relating to piano on Newgrounds. Great Job man!

WTF is with Newgrounders...

Seriously? This song is very professional and sounds amazing. Yet, it has a 3.5, when it should have at least a 4.5.

All they want is their FL Studio techno, I guess >.<

Spiffy.

I really enjoyed it. I hope you don't mind me using this as my cell phone's ring tune? ;D

Bravo!

I've actually been looking for a reason to finally sign up for this site, and man did I find it. This piece is quite honestly one of the finest piano sonatas I have heard in a long time. As an avid classical fan, I am really happy there is such a talented classical artist submitting pieces amidst more modern mainstream musicians. Sorry I couldn't offer any constructive advice, but I really could not personally see a way to improve on this piece. I will definitely have to check out your other stuff. Great piece. 11 out of 10.

Lovely Classical Piece

I can almost see this as a Baron theme song in sonny, only it's not crazy enough but great none the less.
