This is the other cutscene music from The Guardian RPG.

Some of you may have noticed i was inspired by Ganon's theme from the Zelda series.

Enjoy !

Hey Deflektor, it's been a while! You've made some nice improvements since last time I've listening, nice work! Blackattackbitch is right about the tremolo strings. I do understand the effect you're going for, but I think it detracts from the realism of the piece. Try switching it with a legato patch, and you'll get a more authentic sound. The second set of strings could remain tremolo to my ears, however!

Keep up the good work, it's great to see you're still live and well here at Newgrounds!

5/5

Hey, friend, it's always a pleasure to see you !

Thanks for the support, it's greatly appreciated. It's nice to know i have made progress.

This piece, however was done like a year ago before i submitted it. You should rather listen to my Emerald City. It's more recent, and in my opinion, one of my best.

"Main thing is this:"

date: April 12, 2009

I would generally avoid using tremolo strings for that purpose because of this:

Tremolo string sounds consist of the musician moving his bow across the string of the instrument in rapid succession. If the tremolo string sample is playing a quick melody like the one in the beginning, it doesn't sound really realistic. Although it did sound very different from what I'm used to. I would recommend replacing that with a legato sample, or a really slow staccato sample. The viola tremolo melody was okay though. The main problem was caused by the cello tremolo.

The first chord progression was weird, cuz the chord that sounded like a normal ending chord for a progression was in the middle.

When the bass drum starts up though, everything is okay with the exception of one chord choice, which just sounds out of place.

I wish this was a bit longer though, so I'd have more to judge on it. Oh wells...

overall, 7.2/10.

Nice job on mix, that was pretty damn good. I'm guessing you used Squidfont Orchestral, if I'm not mistaken?

Author's Response:

Hey, i know what a tremolo is, as i'm a violonist myself.

Anyways, i thank you for the review !

(and yes, i used Squidfont Orchestral)

Author's Response:

Yes, i remember you. Which makes me think...* favorites Dj-Svenzo, 5-votes Feel me and You're my life *. There, all done.

Anyways, this piece being meant for a short cutscene, i preferred to do a short loop instead of an actual piece.

Thanks for the review, my friend !
