Ok so I finished this one tonight and I think it would be great as the music for the main title for a movie. And during the main title is kind of a montage of newspaper clippings and police reports of the murders of a serial killer. It would start with pictures from the killers childhood, hence the lullaby-like tone in the beginning, and then as he gets older and starts to kill people, the music gets more and more intense. You see newspaper reports like "7th victim slain in small town" and "Police find no leads" and some autopsy photos of dead hookers or something. Then it quiets down as we come to the current setting of the movie. Yeah it's a little morbid, but that's what I saw in my mind as I played this back. Kind of like the main title for Red Dragon, actually, if anyone has seen that.

Also I'm aware that the theme kind of resembles the theme for Gears of War 2, but this theme is actually an expansion of the middle theme from a piece I wrote called Action Brass which you can hear here: /audio/listen/223965 (actually for some reason one of NG's bots keeps putting a space between .com and /audio so just replace the number in your address bar to 223965. Stupid computers.)

I wrote that in 2006, well before Gears 2 came out. So there!

Also I would like to make a concert band arrangement of this. I've had a lot of subtle hints on NG that my pieces would be cool for concert band so I think this one would be a good place to start.

This certainly has a Stephen King movie opening scene feel to it; I could also see this being used for a Tim Burton movie as well.
Excellent work and thought.

James Bond!

I could definitely hear some influences of some more recent bond films (casino royale). I thought you did an awesome job of keeping the material fresh: after you've presented an idea, you don't dwell upon it too long, and you build upon and develop that idea into something new and interesting, while maintaining the structure of the composition. I was most impressed with the quality of the percussion which I have struggled with in my own works in the past.
Awesome work! it's a shame you've left NG :(
