Wow
Hey guys, I'm back with a new tune, its called Memories, please do check it out :)
It's not really video game music, but it's influenced by Yasunori Mitsuda, the composer of Chrono Cross and Trigger, and i'm deeply inspired by Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) too =)
***BEST HEARD really LOUD!* (And no, its not a heavy metal tune haha...)
Lyrics*:
So Come and Hear Our Stories
So Distant yet so Clear...
Tears of Sadness
and Lost long Memories..

Wow
Very fascinating and dreamy. Not sure about the vocals, but still awesome!
wow!
I admit that I scoffed a little when you said the song was influenced by Yasunori Mitsuda. "No way this is gonna be as good as Mitsuda" I said to myself. But I was pleasantly surprised. This is a really good song, and I can actually hear the Mitsuda influence!
As for criticisms, I wasn't sure about the second round of vocals later in the song. (I guess that's more my personal taste than anything.) I'm not sure what it is about them.. they just didn't feel like they meshed with the song. I mean all the notes were right--it didn't sound dissonant or anything, it just seemed like the instruments and the vocals were on different emotional levels. The music is really powerful and builds and builds in this really beautiful way, and they are doing fine on their own, and the vocals coming back up just seemed distracting. Not sure how to explain exactly what I mean. I really like them at the intro, though, for sure.
Weak beginning, strong middle, weak end
You were right adding this to Video Game music. It's got that orchestral sound that pop music lacks... it reminds me of ICO and SotC, as well as the .hack series. (not a big Final Fantasy man myself) The beginning was kind of lacking for me, but I liked it a lot better once the beat picked up, and by the end I was getting into the feel of it.
One thing, though... you make a song much less epic by putting (EPIC!) in the title. Was that really necessary?
AWESOME SONG!
Great song. It really captures that feeling, the essence of sorrow, and then later, a sort of a... faster pace, but if you listen closely, there's still that sad, sorrowful tune underneath.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
