Hello everyone, this is a new hardcore project, known as Exxdee (XD). The members of this are Nav and Chim. We present our first track: Memories.
This track is a true collaborative effort. Chim composed the melodies and much of the infrastructure. Nav did most of the arrangement and much of the synthesis. In the end, it worked out very well, playing off of each member's strengths.
The goal of the track was to make an oldskool-styled track. Something that might have been seen around Bonkers 2 or 3. The piano line is remniscent of G.S.I. - Twister, which is a classic track from that era. The amen is the staple of the genre, adding punch and flow to the track.
Another interesting note about this track is that it was the first track in which Chim used his shiny new Waldorf MicroQ. It was used for part of the pad and for the bassline. I personally think it sounds incredible.
After the arrangement was finished, we each took a shot at mastering it. Chim's came out better, so we used that one. And... That's about it. Expect more in the future.
