i dont really know what i was trying to capture in this composition. im not so much trying to put ideas across to you,
but rather hope you come up with your own ideas. its like i give you the playdough, and you make the model.
P.S i went mental with flourishes in D major. sorry. milking it a bit. LOL.
so tell me what you made from it please.

Awesome.

I made a bad soap opera where Lynnette finds our she's pregnant but not with Leo, and it's her much hated Bruce who is the father, but Bruce is with Sylvia who only wants him for the money that he stole from shady deals with Julia's father Richard, Julia who is indeed in love with Bruce and does not know he is using her to be rich and with Sylvia, let alone that he's the father of her SISTERS BABY, that's right Lynnette's related to Julia. Anyway she aborts it and this is the music that goes to it. Wire coathangers and purple drapes.

Stalagmite responds:

oh my god.
I watched that last night after hollyoaks... it was dead boring. :D LOL. and what a graphic detail you supply... you truly do watch alot of soaps.. :D LOL!

i like it

i like songs that sound like there is a lot of emotion behind them.
that might not be the case for this song, but it sure sounds like it!
i wish i was as good of a composer as you! (or anyone for that matter)
i think it was wonderful!

Stalagmite responds:

wowzers! lol. thanks so much maNn! i really do appreciate that! the only thing you need to be a good composer, is an idea... the rest is just practice, to keep your ideas justified by your laying skills. which can always be improved... keep practice and i promise you will alwas improve. :D:D:D thanks man. really appreciate the review and groovy score. :D:D:D have a nice easter!

I beleive this captures a sense of loss

or maybe fondly looking back on the life of a loved one (due the major flourshes)
I love piano stuff when its done well, and this is good if slightly long at the end, maybe after a bit more melodic variety by then. And the ending is a little too powerful and major i beleive, especially if you like to think the piece has its own sense of feel rather than telling a story, a less definate cadence would've worked better i think. Or if you like my idea of the feel, finishing on the B minor (relative minor tonic? sorry my theory isn't that great) wouldv'e worked well.
Still, nice song!

Stalagmite responds:

LOL. wow you are deep man! actually, i cant explain anything about this piece. Just some improv. although i do knd of zone out when i play it... never really know what i have played until i hear the recording back. The ending is overly powerful. i agree with this, however maybe the major finnish is set to resolve the piece in a positive way.... rather than ending negatively? i preferto replace the sadness i hope my music creates, with happiness at the end. :D:D:D

I wish i could go back and change something. but i have poor memory! and i can never play it again. sad really. lol. i suppose i could play it by ear again. but i cant be bothered truthfully! lol.
And as for theory. I have no idea what cadence is. because I have never read a theory book, had a lesson and i cant read music so i couldnt write it to remember it either. :( shame.

Nice

You're good at the piano man. Congrats.

From 0:00 to 1:47 this was perfect lounge-music to me.

However, I must agree with shatteredreamer. The conclusion didn't seem like one. I was craving a continuation ;o).

Fantastic job.
