Damn I don't feel like writing anything here. Well anyways, this is the WiP for my next remix!

The remix is of a song called Alone by Lasgo. I really like their singer so I decided to do a remix. I was originally gonna remix Something by them but I couldn't find the acapella, and I could find the acapella for this.

I like it so far, cept I realized the bass is a little wrong. Needs some more EQing. I know that this remix can never top my Sound of Goodbye remix and I don't think any of my productions ever will. I think that was the best song I ever had and will produce.

Right now I'm just hoping that this remix will turn out all right. I'm thinking of adding some epic pads or some piano but that might just about kill my computer. I should probably get it fixed, but I'm too lazy XD

Enjoy what there is of it!

"I had to skip into the song :\"

date: March 3, 2009

The beginning didn't catch me, I waited for a minute before skipping into the song. But other than that, It's pretty good! No constructive critisism this time, It's a WiP, I'll give a full one if you post the full here!

"Its good, but it does lack alot...:/"

Well it was a good song, its kind of basic in my opinion, but sounds well on its way to a nice song!

Good job on mixing in the vocals, and on the lead/melody! But your beat/bass is really just OFF so far in this one man... the loop is just way to high, and i am preeetty sure your using preset fills? =P Like, those are things i see as important to make yourself, 'cause if you dont songs just remind me of Ejay and stuff like that where you just assemple loops x) Try working on an ORIGINAL and powerfull beat that catches people, and ones who doesnt make people who has visited an FL with VEC samples "Omg, again?"... 'cause that honestly is the first thing i thought when i heard your loop/beat in this one, its just way to used up tbh =P

The bass, might not be quite what you want for this exact beat, IMO (maybe just my opinion, idk.) you may want to use a more sidechained one, atleast in the back to accompany this! One that makes the whole thing flow just a little bit more!

4/5

All in all a good song, but a bit basic! Great job on the vocals and the lead!

Thank you for your time.

Hey, I tried :P. Yea I used a preset fill from VEC2, but I didn't think you guys would be able to pick that one out as easily. I can always try changing the bass, but idk. Thanks for the review!

Hey HLS,
It's good so far but it feels somewhat empty in the current state, I'm counting groove, bassline, synthlead and her voice. You should definitely add some more tonal instruments like an arp, an additional bass-layer (can have the same notes but make it more "crunchy") and/or the ones you've suggested. And remember that low bass shouldn't be in stereo (opinions vary but I try to keep everything below 100hz mono), "otiumFX basslane", a free plugin does that for you if you don't want to tweak your synth.
Okay that's about it then, keep on producing!

Thanks for the advice :). I'll be checking out that plugin you mentioned, but I don't quite understand what you mean by making a bassline more "crunchy".
