I tried making a Native American style song.

Tell me how I did.

"Very nice"

date: October 14, 2009

I liked how you brought in your drum patterns. Gave it a nice hiphop feeling to it..I was not a fan of the bass you chose though. Sounds like you need to low pass it with a short cut.

Was also hoping for some other drums to come in after awhile, like some toms or bongos, and like...a rain stick or shakers. Something with some nice reverb to add to the nice sounding synth.

Nice work.

"Indian? Dream"

date: February 15, 2009

Very good_ allthough I think if you want to really go for a native american feel, enhance the main melody with a chief/shaman chanting, plus add lots of tribal percussion/shakers/rattlesnake/eagle soaring etc. The flute sound is good, but it can just as easily be mistaken for an irish folk song. In any case, this really good stuff sysrq 5/5

Author's Response:

Well, I'm not really that sure that the glockenspiel really fits the Indian theme either... the only reason I in fact think of this as a Native American song is the lead flute. And even that is a pan flute.

Maybe this is more of a folkish song? I don't know. Maybe I'll do a redux later on, taking your advice into account, who knows.
