This song was an experiment for me. I wanted to try doing the lyrics, and I also wanted to play around with my vocoder. I thought it turned out pretty good, but let me know what you think. Also, I didn't make up the lyrics to this song, I used this stanza from a poem I found (if you must know what it's called, PM me). If you can't understand what I'm saying, it's:

"I gave you my tears I gave you my heart you made me happy right from the start. I gave you my tears I gave you my heart but then you went and tore it apart."

I suppose you could say this is in honor of Valentines Day, but it was just a weird coincidence. =P

"Good job all around."

Good Points - It had a nice catchy beet and was fun to listen to. The vocals were really good and sounded great with the song. The song itself could probably be used to make a some sort of sad flash animation for valentines day. You did a good job using the lyrics in the song.

Bad Points - Not too much. Perhaps adding a little bit more variety with the instruments would have made it a little better, but other than that I though this submission was really good.

Overall - A very good song that you did a great job with vocals on. Probably would be useful for a sad flash.

Glad you liked it, that'd be cool to see this in a sad V-day flash. :)

"Steady Beat"

by: Coop83

This tune isn't a bad start at all - it's got a nice steady beat and while the melody is a little quiet for my liking, it certainly reflects well on the overall performance of the song.

The vocal samples are nicely worked - what did you do to them, to make them sound like someone's playing them with a PIG attachment on a guitar? Whatever you did, it sounds nice.

I think that this piece could have used more variation, even though it is only Ambient. Try working up and down the keyboard in different ways, just to give a slightly different sound to the piece a little later in the music, as it makes it sound like a longer loops, which in essence is what it is - we don't want the listeners to feel short changed.

Author's Response:

Well thanks for an honest review. In order to make the vocals I ran my voice, as well as the tune, through a vocoder. I agree that there needed to be more to this, but your creativity kind of dies when you work on something for 4 hours straight. x_x
