Full title: Tiesto - Lethal industry (MICHhimself remix)
I'll be honest with you. I'm not statisfied with this song. I think it lacks in several places, and it's too short for my standards.

But the reason I'm submitting this is because it was just sitting around in my projects folder, and just didn't feel like working on it anymore, since I'm working on bigger projects. But it was just a bit too good to just sit around there for no-one to be heard.

Anyway... no Midi's were used, I determined the notes by ear. Synths used: 1 nexus, for that typical Lethal industry bass that plays for like... 16 bars maybe? :p
The rest are 3xOsc's :)

Well I hope you can enjoy it... at least it has Cowbell.

"I like it for what it is"

date: October 25, 2009

Despite other reviews arguing that this song is too short or incomplete, I think its a good piece of work. I know its not something you can dance/drive/fuck/mosh to, but its a good relaxing piece of background music for when you need just that. I just put this sucker on, turn the volume to about 3.5 and do what I got to do. The rhythm is upbeat and stimulating, and the tone is dynamic, yet static enough not to distract from what Im doing. To top it all off, the base provides a relaxing vibe that, much to my enjoyment, I find myself following along with in my work. Overall good stuff, sorry if its not what you set out to make, but Ive gotten enough miles out of it to burn a hole in a CD. Thanks for making this wonderful unfinish masterpiece.

"Your right, its missing something"

date: July 14, 2009

It is a good song overall and a good remix, but It is wayyy to short in my opninion. I like the funny synth and drums at the beginning, they were a nice touch. When the actual tiestio lead starts, I was hoping for a deeper and longer delay to keep it in motion instead of play/stop/next line. When the bassline/lead start it goes quite nicely, and at 2:50 i got into the mood for something epic, but then I realized that the song has ended, I taugh a crazy lead would come in and and even faster bassline would dominate the song. If you do make a newer version I would suggest to make a lead after the end and add some other sounds, some voicy chords, the same deep bassline to give it that good WOOHOO!!! song impression.

4/5 - 7/10

Author's Response:

I must say I completely agree with your review.
When I first started this I had it all planned out, long epic buildup to then break loose in the good ol' melody.

But sadly, I lost the spirit to go on. I realize that's it's totally not what it should be, but I figured that it was too good to just let it sit and rot in my projects folder. I don't like songs as short as this either.

Anyway, I doubt I'll make an extended version of this, maybe if I ever get some burts of inspiration for it or so.

Thank you very much for the honest review!

Overall, this is a good song, the synths are excellent and the drum sequences are amazing. However....

The bassline isn't one of my favs. It's just sumthing about the fact that kick kinda knocks it out in the mid of it's slide.

And the last melody probably should have been altered on each chord rather than hitting the sequence D-D-C-G-A-A-B-D over again throughout the chord sequence. It ends up clashing with the chords.

Other than that, this song is pretty damn good. Nice job.

This gets an 9.1/10 for me.

Author's Response:

First of all, I don't quite get your summary here haha :p
I just opened up the project file to check it, all for you (feel honoured >:( ) and the kick knocking it out is called sidechaining, so yeah, it's on purpose. :p Maybe I could've been more original if it comes to the bass.

I kinda agree about the melody on the chords, maybe it sounds better with some altered notes.
Might as well give it a try when I'm bored badly enough.

Thanks for the HELPFUL review! (They're so rare, it's sad.)
