Inspired by the beautiful music from classic Super Nintendo RPGs like Final Fantasy 4 & 6, and Chrono Trigger, I decided to write my own original album of RPG-style music using the same instrument samples that were used in the actual games. The album itself is still unfinished (and progressing pretty slowly), but here's one of the songs that I've finished.

My intention for this piece was to create a theme for a hero or a heroic moment in general. It might also work as a fanfare, main theme, or for any sort of scene that requires music with an uplifting, epic feel to it.

Wow...

Now I want to go play a SNES game.
You did an awesome job! Normally I don't listen to the game music on here, but this piece is amazing! Reminds me a lot of Fire Emblem!(mostly just the epicness of it) :D

Have you composed for any games yet?

5/5 and 10/10!

Exactly what you'd want

This song is exactly what you'd want out of a classic RPG on the SNES. I could see this song being played as the "hero" triumphantly marches into a the capitol city at the end of a game.

Nice to see you on this site btw Pongball... not sure if you remember me, it's been 4 or 5 years. It's awesome to see you've moved from making midi's on vgmusic to becoming an aspiring video game composer! Keep putting up great songs like this and you'd be surprised at the helpful exposure you get once you get a fan following on here :)

Keep it up and looking forward to more superb original music from you!

Pongball responds:

Hey, thanks!

I recognize your name, but I can't recall if you were a forum regular or a sequencer (or both). :( Nevertheless, it's good to see a familiar "face" here. :)
