I was influenced to make music that combined instrumental rock with punk and ska.

Make sure to adjust the volume so you can hear it and wait for the song to kick in before you pass judgment.

Please let me know what you you think and please be honest. Our band name is: "Urban Underclass" and check out the band's myspace if you really like it.

good

Like the part after 0:30. I don't like much the beggining (0-0:3)
But nice :-)

Unsure what you mean by "kick in"

This song starts strong and ends strong, but with little overall change. The individual instruments are going every which way but they are static in their flailing. I think maybe slowing down a bit and working on integrating the different parts better. Also starting at you top and going from there may seem like a good idea but I have always felt that music is better with highs and lows, it gives the music more texture. This piece has no clear emotional crescendo, it just has brief respites then more flailing. You should note that I am not a big ska fan so I may be missing something in that would appeal to a ska fan.

firstly, thank you for taking the time to write out an intelligent critique and telling 'why' you like/dislike some parts.

-The song is using backing tracks... unfortunately, but that problem has been solved. We now have a full band and if we re-record this it should at least have better quality, but yea the fake drums and such are a biggy in terms of quality.

-the main idea behind this genre of music is just to musically rock out without 'cluttering' with vocals or anything, but it comes with a bit of a downside, because there are no vocals, there has to be other ways of filling in the gaps and this and the whole CD (more songs to come in the future) are all works in progress. I mean we can't appeal to everyone's specific interests and maybe by mixing/mashing a couple genres there will be a sort of... hit or miss basis, but on many levels. You may like parts of the song but not others... I guess. Well give my other songs (and ones that have yet to be uploaded) a listen and let me know what you think.

-Thanks for review
