I think the marriage of the basic notes that I composed with the sounds of J-Pop music seemed to work hand in hand. Using effects and vocal shouts was also imperative in accomplishing the right sound, but you don't want to drown the song. Some light classical touches make it interesting but they shouldn't slow down the jumpy pace of the song. And as always, distorted and hard edged riffs and synths make up the core of the melody. While some old school funk drum kits keep the beat going.
