this is actually quite old. it was also originally not for me. it was supposed to be for a sonic fan-game, but the hands of fate were very persistent in foiling my every attempt to finish it and deliver it.

in fact, this isn't even the same edition that i had several months ago, but the original edited/completed file was lost due to some out-of-the-blue occurrences. hence, this is merely a version .05 +1. i tired of trying to recreate the last one and its guitars, so i took what i had left and put a new lead instrument in. i think it's actually nice and subtle now, but i miss the guitar-laden ultramix i had prior. oh well.

here's to fate. enjoy.

Classic, with a modern touch

Very cool remix of Green Hill, most of the green hill remixes sound pretty similar, but this is unique, very upbeated and cheerfull, most like it was from a official game, i was wondering if it was cool i could use it in my Sonic Gijinka Fangame? i was aiming for a more Unleashed-ish style of song for the original ones of sonic 1 and this sounds kinda like that.

darkmelee responds:

use it if you want. i'd suggest raising the volume on it a little, but that's just me.

Welcome to the Jungle

Sounds more like a jungle-lized version of Green Hill Zone, I will agree with newbaggett on that. Yet it is a damn good remix. Great job, man. =)

The only problem I had was that it sounded very organic. The drums and beats all sounded monotone without any echo or reverb at all. If you made them sound wide and clear, like they were being played in a large room, then the song would be good for a game on a grassy level.

i get what you're aiming at. this has had so many goes, i'm not even fond of it, really. it's more of a house kit anyways, just thin enough to not drown out the music, but deep enough to have a bit of oomph.

The intro alone is epic!

I honestly think this is the best Green Hill Mix I've ever heard. Its original, yet it still captures how the song was originally composed. I'm honestly at a loss of words trying to tell you how awesome your remix is so I'll just say...

first of all, i don't believe you, and second of all, thanks!

there was a better version of even this take that had a more techno-ish intro with the drums cut back (similar to before the loop, only cooler) but that was tuned to fit the tastes of the guy i was commissioning for and sadly, that take is lost, now. oh well.
