"Caverns of the Dreamworld"... it's background music.

Not really sure where this came from... I was bored this afternoon, wanted to try making a long ambient track, and searched around my library for some pads I could modify. I ended up with a triangle thing panned to the right and a weird pink noise effect from the left. Not sure if anyone is going to like that, but hey.

For those of you with short attention spans, this is not for you. The full track is just this one pad playing chords. I was aiming for ten minutes, but I'm lazy and didn't want to continue. It's long enough as it is. For those of you who do like this kind of thing, please leave a review with some constructive criticism!

Thanks for listening!

Very good...

Your song relaxes me. Tell me. Since you use Fruity Loops, which pad did you choose? Did you edit it in any way before using it? I would like to use a sound like this in a future song...

Hi! Thanks for the review! I know I used Superwave P8 for this, but sadly I lost the project file when I had to reformat my computer so I'm not sure the exact sound I used. It was a pad preset on SP8 that I modified to get the echoey white noise and other things, but that's as much as I remember. But yeah. Superwave P8, good for saws and pads :)

EDIT: Here's a link to the plugin: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/708.html

THIS

MY MIND TELLS ME: PIANO PIANO PIANO!!

i get piano melodies in my head, this would be a 10 if you added piano. its also good as a backround track, like in a game

PIANO PIANO PIANO IS WHAT I SHALL ADD! I'm thinking of just freestyling when I have the time, so... keep an eye out.

Good background music indeed.

One thing though... like you said... its one pad... repeating...

I think a good piano would of helped it a little bit. Maybe thats just me.

Other then missing a piano and only being one pad... It was ok... nothing huge.

Good job more or less...

Lamplighter responds:

Piano would be nice, but I spent too much time wondering what I should do with it. I was thinking of decreasing the attack on it... I don't know. I'm going on a long car trip tomorrow with nothing to do, so I'll experiment with this. Thanks for the review!

So very calm

I totally love this stuff, and I agree with SteveO526. The only thing that annoyed me was the ending: there was no fade-out. Other than that it was perfect.

Check out my newest song, will ya? It's an ambient one too. :D

Lamplighter responds:

Thanks for the review! Yeah, I work with the Fruity Loops edition of Fruity Loops (just realized how redundant that sounds :) so I can't automate volume... is there another way to do that than with automation clips?

Oh, and I'll certainly check out your latest song!

Something That Could Definitely Help Me Relax.

This is really good. This is the sort of thing I could listen to at night to help fall asleep. It sounds so relaxing and comforting. I listened to the entire thing, and I honestly can't find anything wrong with it! It's perfect the way it is. Keep up the great work!
