Easy Listening - Jazz

This piece came about as part of a school assignment this year. I wrote it with the intention of experimenting with 2 ostinato figures playing against one another, and graphic notation. The ostinatos can be heard in the tag of each head - it's a 1/4-bar figure in the right hand over a 2-bar figure in the left hand - and the graphic notation is the barely audible drumming on the piano's iron frame after the ostinatos. Yeah, it sounded like a good idea at the time...:p I don't really know why i called it 'Some Things Always Change', i guess it's sort of down the lines of breaking away from conventional piano playing, i.e. playing inside the physical frame of the piano, and the mood changes that happen between the main theme and the ostinato theme. Mm.

I thoroughly enjoyed this song. The snare was very well in time, which is amazing for how much it played. Assuming it wasn't a drum bot, of course XD.

I thought it went quite well with the song, though perhaps it was a bit loud. However, I loved the playig in the piano's frame, as well the 2 ostinatos against each other. The transitions were mostly well done, except for one at about 4:20 which seemed to be a little out of time, but it wasn't that bad. Overall, the feel and the creativity spoke to me.

Great piano piece! the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the snare in the beginning of the song. It didn't blend well imo. But then as the song became more epic the snare was quite fitting. great song!

It's not very good, but not bad either.
