Well, this is my first try at improving my feeble FL skills xD

I'm going to have to agree with Schlief.

FL Slayer is one of those things that you really want to avoid using, if possible.
I mean, it's okay for plotting out your riffs and progressions, but it's very difficult to get to sound good.
Now, that said, there are people here on NG who are very good at making FLSlayer sound less... well, Slayer-like. One of them is jrayteam6 (sp?). If you're bound and determined to use electronic guitars, he's the guy to ask about how to get them to sound good.
If you're willing to use a real guitar, then you really should. Nothing sounds more like a guitar than a guitar. However, recording guitar is a difficult task in itself, but the payoff, to me, is worth it.
And drums... well, drums are a pain, if you want my opinion. However, programming them does get easier over time.
If you want a good starter drum program, I'd suggest Acoustica Beatcraft.
Then, when you get comfortable with Beatcraft, you can move up to EZDrummer (which I use) or something else, like Addictive Drums (which I, personally, have never used, but I've heard it's good).

So yeah. Long monologue aside, you've got potential. You sound like you know how to write a riff, a progression, etc. And I wouldn't have written all this if I didn't believe that you'll make a good contributer to the AP someday.
What you should really do now is focus on trying to get a good guitar sound, and learn to program good drums.
Figure those two things out, and you'll be golden.
And if there's anything you need help with, don't be afraid to go into the Audio Forum and ask for help. Most of the guys in there are great dudes who will help you out, or at least point you in the right direction.
So yeah, I look forward to hearing your future work.
Keep it metal.

Lard-lad responds:

Wow, thanks for the advice mate =]

Yeah, i'll give recording my guitar a go, just last time i tried it kinda failed pretty miserably.

I'm honoured you think i have potential, I'll keep at it =p

[title]

the melodies work - however, fl slayer does not. it's a really crappy plugin. and the drums are very dull, i'm guessing fl-drums. which also suck, haha. but this tune would sound pretty awesome with real guitars, and it's still fairly well done - i do sense potential. so i'll give you 8 and a 5. keep rocking \m/

Lard-lad responds:

Hah, yeah, I do agree, but i've only just got the full version of fl and I don't really know how to get a better sound out of it. Tried to write my own drums and failed completely xD

I'll keep going, thanks for the review =p
