I know this classic track has been remixed to hell, but I've always wanted to hear a version like this with orchestral Trance mixed with Break-Beat. This particular Axel F theme song is remixed with Trance synths and a Break-Beat layered with FX. This has actually been almost 2 years in the making... just finally decided to finish it in one long sitting. Couldn't have finished this properly without my good friend Dreamscaper's touch added to the mix. Thanks buddy! Hope this familiar tune isn't too familiar but something new for your aural pleasure. Enjoy!

Yeah!

I hate trance Axel F remixes, but this is awesome anyway, I love the synths lol! A bazillion times better than that prat Crazy Frog.

I know, this song has been butchered sooo many times, I was actually a little hesitant to even begin to make it; but it was too classic to not try my hand at. Thanks for the props even though you compared it to the Crazy-ass Frog one. I won't hold it against you. ;-)

good

The concept is good and there are some great ideas in the use of synths, but unfortunately, the mixing is flawed and it kind of ruins the song. I love the Axel F song, as a movie theme, not as a trance remix, and I really think you had something here that was closer to the spirit of the original theme and much better than the crappy crazy frog remix. Nice touch with Eddie Murphy signature laughter and the movie clip at the end. I would definetly love to hear an improved version of this. Good work anyway !

1nf1ltr8or responds:

Thanks for the review, but it would definitely help if you could elaborate on why you think things like the mixing is flawed because it's like telling someone that they smell bad, and it might just be that they're wearing a cologne/perfume that smells bad to you but good to everyone else. Plus, it would help me to fix some things in the track that might actually be bad so that the tracks I produce from here on out don't have bad mixing like this one. ;-)

Yeah, I was debating if I should have made this into a Trance, Orchestral, Break-Beat or remix it with the same sounding instruments. But, I think almost any track could sound pretty new and cool if it was remixed properly; so I guess saying that you don't love this theme as a Trance remix is a personal preference. But, it really does help me when I hear constructive criticism like this instead of someone who knows nothing about music production just telling me it's crap. So, thanks for not being that person!

loooots of reverb

I think you have a great concept here however the reverb was WAY to much. May of wanted to turn it down a bit. Other then that its not a bad idea. the piano extra in there was pretty cool. The bassy sound you used later on in the song kinda took out the cool Orchestral sound and did add taht break beat sound.. I don't know heh i can't say i liked it for sure. It just needed some more EQ'ing in my opinion. Over all though keep it up!

1nf1ltr8or responds:

With the speakers that I'm using, it's a little difficult to tell how much is too much on reverberation. Listening to this track all the way through a few times now, I'm starting to now hear how much the reverb wave starts to overpower the clarity. Thanks for pointing that out!

Actually, I thought I used too much EQ because if I used any more, the bass notes would have been cancelled through the filtering of certain pitches so as not to break the sound barrier before it distorts. But, equalizing is an art in itself and is still something I'm battling to perfect even after 12 years of music production. Thanks for the feedback!
