This is one of the songs from our upcoming EP. It's a rewrite of one of our old songs. Jake is very enthusiastic about it, and insisted that it be one of the first to go up, so here it is! Be honest, tell us what you think.

In case you all are wondering, this is a song about Ohio. And how much it sucks. Weather-wise.

Also, if anyone's in Ohio in the next couple of months, let us know! We've got quite a few shows lined up through October an November, maybe you can drop on by!

THAT'S IT,IT'S SETTLED!

Ska is now my FAVORITE music genre!
I LOVE the mix of guitar and trumpet,it sounds incredible, and to me,any song or rhythm can sound good with a trumpet playing somewhere!

It's all Drew's fault

I hadn't even heard of ska until I listened to Drew's time slot on Blade Radio; I actually think this was the first song I heard him play. Long story short, I'm now hooked on Ska and am ecstatic to find out that you guys are here on Newgrounds. Other than fawning praise I only have one thing to say: the weather in northern Indiana is worse than Ohio's weather.

Lol, well then, you should hear our song 'Hurricanes and Tidal Waves,' found on our myspace. It's about the whole midwest! :P

But it's AWESOME to hear not only from one of Drew's listeners, but from a budding Ska fan. FANTASTIC!

Nicely produced

I rather enjoyed the drums and the brass, they flowed pretty nicely. The little "whispering" effect was also pretty funny. I didn't fall out of my chair laughing, but it was neat! Guitar effects were nice too. I'm pretty neutral on the singing honestly. It's ska, so I can't say I know much.

-The guitar chords didn't seem to match up with the brass too well, maybe it could sound more harmonious instead of dissonant? The bass line was pretty groovy, nice!

HyruleanHyroe responds:

Well I'm glad you liked it! As for the horn part, rest assured, this has always been one of my least favorites. We kind of copped out and used the bassline as a horn part, too. At least this chorus riff is better than the original. It was basically whole notes. Just chords. Boring as deuce. We're still working with this one, and with any luck, it will change a good bit some time in the future.

-from a new fan

HyruleanHyroe responds:

There was a time when we were considering playing a show or two in Florida. There was another ska band down there, the Send Out Scuds, that we had not only been in contact with, but met in person on a trip to Disney World. I don't know about the rest of the guys, but I would sure be open to another trip down there. :)

But seriously, check out the Scuds if you'd like some more great Ska, I really like their sound, too.
