"Icarus - Dream of Flight" is made special for "Mac8 - Oct Flight In Freedom"
This is first Mac I participate in, for the first time is a theme that was always triggered my imagination.
Since I was a kid I was dreaming of flying but never had a chance to be the next Superman or at least an astronaut :(
The name of the track comes from Greek mythology, Icarus, commonly known for his attempt to escape Crete by flight. Overcome by the crazy feeling that flying gave him, Icarus soared through the sky curiously, but in the process he came too close to the sun, which burned his wings.
Well, the track have a happier ending, no fallyng ... just flying to freedom.
Tune written in Bb mostly in Lydian mode, tempo 136 bpm. Start with an orchestral part, goes to a piano "balad-ish" part as a bridge to the next part, a jazz improvisation on the theme in a open Latin groove with a Jungle feel.

updated, boosted the high, boosted the volume, cut 1 db from trumpet solo and faded it in to blend more properly in the mix.
