A remix of Coldplay's "Clocks." Done a little differently than my usual style. This remix took a lot more effort than I thought it would. Some song stats :P

My first version was 8.3 MB, I had to increase the tempo slightly and remove some effects :/

17 tracks total, 9 of which are pianos.

Took two full minutes to convert to mp3 format.

One week to complete (working about an hour a day).

If you want the 8 MB version (which is more awesome) send me a PM and I'll email it to you.

This is tasty remix indeed :D

Great arrangement of Coldplay's clocks, decent choice of instruments. I like the string accompaniments and the simple organ selection.

The reverb is a bit overpowering, makes the bass sounds quite muddy, try cranking up the lowcut controls or just experimenting with a different patch alltogether.

Some of your accented piano chords cause some minor clipping, limit or compress it out.

One thing I must say is, while the melodic and harmonic flow was of this track was carried fairly well, there was really no groove or interesting rhythm structure to make this track keep my headphones glued to my ears throughout the entire near 7 minutes. This could be remedied by a simple drum beat, or just more variation could be used if that wasnt your purpose for the track, some fills and more apparent transitions, or simply just cut out of the some sections hear and make it a condensced song.

Keep it up :D

Thanks for the review! I tried adding drums at first, but none of the patches I had really suited the song very well. I guess I could give it another attempt though. As for the rest of your advice, I'll be sure to implement it if I pick up this song again. Thankyou!

"Uplifting."

Sounds pretty similar in the beginning.
How did you make it sound so much like the original song?
I mean the main melody.
I like your slow and a little "bigger" version!
Next time you could sing along! ;)
...I'm at 4:00 by now and find your remix some kind of uplifting.
I had a bad and boring day today, your remix is beautiful.
Especially the organ (?) is neat!
Cool song UT! Thanks for sharing it to us.

Author's Response:

Haha, I don't think I'm going to sing along any time soon. I tried a song with lyrics once and it turned out quite horrible :P As for similarity to the original, I listened to he song about 20 times and was able to play the piano and lyrics (organ) by ear. I couldn't get the chords right on the strings/chimes though, so I had to cheat and look at a midi file :( Anyway, glad you enjoy it :D
