This is my first submission for the Mac8 for October.

The challenge was to write a piece of music based off an image, which can be found in the thread here: /bbs/topic/976082

Just a quick explanation of how I wrote the song and the story it ('s meant to) tell.

0:00 - 0:59 is experiencing the joy of flying.
0:59 - 1:35 is the trouble in the cockpit.
1:35 - 2:14 is the crash and aftermath.
2:14 - 2:38 is the survivors trying to find out where they are and running through a forest.
2:38 - 2:58 is a return to the main theme as the survivors are found by the rescue cue.

This is what happens when you watch too many episodes Air Crash Investigation.

Stay tuned, the other submission is coming soon.

very creative, somewhat strange imagery.

Though I really like your idea of telling a story I personally don't quite agree with it. For one your opening segment is very tense. Lots of tension and a strong military presense, minor chords such as at 0:53. I didn't get the joy of flight from that segment at all. That cost you quite a bit of points in my books.

Now the trouble in the cockpit scene I fully clicked with. Awesomely well done segment here, very true to it's story. The rest is subjective of course, I personally thought the next three segments were told very well. I again didn't quite agree with the last segment. Again we've got a very strong military sensation with tension I don't quite believe should be.

All in all Nossinator I felt this song was well crafted, but was fairly far away from the MAC's image. Keep up the good fight and keep em coming!

Had a very nautical feel, and even would fit an RPG intro sequence or something.I really liked it. Had alot going on, and the way you developed each section was great. Really nice song and has alot going for it

Hmm, I don't know if it signifies anything to do with air travel for me, it just seems to go toward a pirate style tune, especially reminiscent of something from Pirates of the Caribbean. I think that it might have needed something a little more special to make it sound like it's an air tune, possibly some woodwind and brass to work as the main piece, instead of the strings.

It's certainly a well worked piece and maybe it would sound better when I listen to it on something other than my laptop, which doesn't flatter the bass, exactly. Still I think that it's a worthy piece and a few improvements would be nice to hear.

Thanks for the review. I would be fixing up these things, but my computer had to be reformatted and I lost all the files for all my songs. D=

great work

I can really picture the story you set out to go along with this, the music conveyed a lot of emotion, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if this was made into a movie, could be a touch more dramatic for the crash scene though, otherwise it's good, I've nothing more to say other than keep at it
