So...this is the result of about 5 hours of straight work, a red bull, and a few cigarettes. I put a lot of work and effort into this one and I hope you can tell.

Made this in FL using z3ta+ and VECS. No premade loops, arps, or sequences were used in this and I tried to fool around with the presets as much as possible. I didn't really have a direction with this one so it kind of appeals to all of my musical tastes when it comes to electronic instruments.

Please leave some feedback, anything you like or dislik, let me know and how to fix it. I'm not great at mastering so if the levels ever sound off or anything please let me know as well and how to fix it.

Anyway, thanks, enjoy, and rate and review.

Good composing!

Hey recieved your email!
I figured I should take a listen to your work before I make some pointers for Fl use.
the mix is awesome. some slight mods i would do. at times your drums cymbals are just a lil to harsh to enjoy. to clean this up one method is to have a delay on them instead of hitting them so often. the first piano introduced the higher octave one could be a lil less muffled by using a filter or an equo. your kick probably when played at a louder volume gets distorted you can fix that by bringing the volume down a little and a filter. the buzz bass good be reduced in volume a little to better hear your drums. the main synth around 2:20 could have a lil more reverb and hit a lil softer. the flanger on the drums during this time is really cool by the way. the piano at the end is to quiet at the end and the main synth should interlude to becoming a background sound when it comes in.

If you want to work together sometime let me know.
I lack builds and super interesting melodies and you seem to have that quality in your music.

hey! glad to hear you get back to me...yeah thanks for the pointers I really did very little mastering and equalizing because frankly I don't really know how to...I've only figured out very little to FL so far and I'm still working on it, but thanks for the pointers...if you could just point me to where or how I could do that would be much appreciated. And you a collab would be awesome just hit me up with some ideas you have or somewhere you would like to go with a song and I'll be sure to work on something...I've been going through quite a lazy period so a reason to make a kick ass song would be fantastic...anyway thanks for the review look forward to hearing from ya!

Nice!

Great job with this. Awesome melody, good drums. MAYBE you could have given the treble a boost at times, but honestly I think it's pretty good as it is. Some of the synths used sounded a little generic (e.g 1:24), but overall great synth choices. Good amount of variation in the song; enough to keep my attention, but not so much that it sounds random.

Overall, 10/10, 5/5. Good job!

Hey thanks for the prompt review...I agree with your points there, I honestly have no idea how the mastering works with this program so give me some time and I'll figure out how to boost certain levels and all that jazz. And about the generic synths I've been working on making my own lately so hopefully I'll have some interesting sounding stuff. Anyway thanks again.

DUDE

DUDE AWESOME AS USUAL and If you need to Preview a full version FL one word i-s-o-h-u-n-t trust me (not that I would ever do something like that :P

thatguy669606 responds:

Oh buddy I use the shit out of Isohunt and I did look at FL 8 on it, but I read that there were a few files showing trojans and other baddies. Maybe I'll just dl it and scan it myself before I install because during the installation of the demo my security removed a few gens because it read them as trojans. Hm, I dunno. I would love to buy this program, but I don't have a 300 bucks to throw around like that.

Anyway thanks for another review!

Awesome!

this song has almost everything you could ask to in a trance song. There are just a few things I would like better if you changed:

Make the melody even more outstanding from the rest (more treble on the melody in the chorus)

Take away that f***ing earpiercing sound in the beginning and the end of the song (I like to listen to trance loud, so that sound just kills me)

More bass overall at the part from 02:11 and out

The part from 02:44 where the second melody comes on top of the other, you should bring the previous melody/beat a bit to allow the the new melody to come better through.

Thx for a great listning experience!

thatguy669606 responds:

Your the first person who didn't like the opening FX, but thats cool, it is kinda earsplitting if turned up loud. I agree with sharpening up the lead and I would have liked to amp up the bass a little more to, but thats usually my weakness. I would love to go back and work in this song again after these reviews, but unfortunately I'm using a FL Studio Demo at the moment, so I cannot save any of my work, thus I have to do it all and one sitting and so on so it sucks. Hopefully I'll have money to pick up the real deal soon. Anyway sorry for the long response and thanks for the awesome review.
