Interesting note: lack of nicotine + surplus of caffeine x anticipation of alcohol = stupidly delete your songs because you're not thinking clearly enough to find the right way to modify the song info

yeah, I'm new here.

But this was the first track I uploaded for your listening pleasure because it was the first one this time around (2008 being my second whack at original music) that I was actually thoroughly impressed with.

It's been said that my vocals can be hard to understand. I tell people that's cause their freakin volume ain't loud enough. Regardless, whatever the root of your hearing impairment, here are the lyrics for you:

see the photo in your eyelid
cut it off and then you're done
double the standard
double the fun
ooh
leave an eyelid left unblinking
so just hand the man a gun
double the standard
ooh
double the fun
when you see the double image
don't let them have number one
double the standard
double the fun

Oh, and in case you're on myspace add my music profile for the latest news as well as the growing portfolio of graphic designs I'm compiling for the umbrella DTS project. If you don't feel like clicking the link to it (my official website for now) my name is the same there and the url extension (after myspace.com/...) is donaldfletchermusic

Thanks for listening,

Im not going to lie

Im not to keen on the vocals. I like them but they just don't fit in properly but i can imagine this is an early work and i remember the headaches of making vocals fit a song so i give you kudos for posting this. The music needs a bit of work your kicks sound a bit flat and in the backround. And that kinda rising mechanical sound has to much reverb on it kinda squeels in a bad way. Once i get stuff posted on here you'll have to review me man :P

Memories

Wow, reminds me of the old works of Yello or Fracture, instantly fills my mind and body with darkness and makes me wanna lurk in the shadows. One of the most atmospheric songs here. I love the crackles that make it sound like played from a gramophone.

DonaldFletcher responds:

Yo, thanks for the cool review. This is probably the darkest thing I've ever done (that I'd share with you guys anyway) so I'm glad that came through.
Actually that crackling is from a sample disc I picked up from Sony. It's supposed to be a stereo recording of rain but the stereo on it just isn't that dramatic, so when I mixed it into the center of my channels, it turned out it sounded just like you said - eerie crackling. But I actually liked the effect it produced that way so I was happy to keep it.
Thanks again for the review!

DonaldFletcher responds:

Thanks for the positive review, man! Usually I'm told my material would make perfect listening for playing Doom or Quake, ha ha
