Author Comments

Well, I made this to try another style.
It's short, but I made the best of it.
Enjoy.

Update: No more mad SBB and more emphasis on the bassoon.

Yeah I'm with Zero, what do you use? It sounds like 50's hollywood blockbuster music. I'm in love.

Author's Response:

50's Hollywood blockbuster? So it's sounding like filmscore. :D
Thanks!

"Wowowowowy!"

Intero?
What program do you use?

I would LOVE to know please.

oh, and the song had a real proffesional feel - like some of Nobuo Uematsu's work >> A night in alexandria?

Have a good day/night - whatever the time is!

Author's Response:

Lots of programs... :D
I use Sonar 7 to compose and in this song I used the VSTi "Symphonic Orchstra Gold Pro XP" for this. I'm mostly using East West & Quantum Leap instruments.

Nobuo is waaaay better than me. What I have made in these short second he makes albums of. But thanks for the compliment. ;) *he's my god*

Have a good day/night, too. ;)

"Oooo, pretty"

You're right, it's very short. So of course there's not much to be said.

But I must say you did produce a very nice atmosphere those few seconds it lasted. Almost like that idea of being in a deep dark forest, etc, and you know that cliché imagination. Probably because of that woodwind.

The only thing I want to nitpick on is that perhaps you could use those little bells just once more a bit later in the song, cause when I heard it once, I expected to hear it again before it started over, and I wanted to hear it again, I had a great, raging desire to hear it again!! And so I listened to it several times in a row! Do you have ANY idea how mad that made me?!? >:(

well that's nitpicking alright. It's a great little 0:26 piece of music with no real flaws at all.

But please, make this an intro to something bigger. For my sake. It would make me a very verrrrry happy SBB. Aight?

Author's Response:

Alright!
I'll change it in the Weekend! I'll try to make another song with this mood, style and atmosphere. So hear again and you won't become mad anymore. ^^
Thanks for your review, glad to hear some more ideas to keep it better. :D

"Quite Splendid"

by: Bosa

This is a rather excellent piece! I'm not gonna beat you down about its length, because you intended it to be short and so be it.

I could actually see this being featured in an early release of the game, Morrowind. You made a good use of string trills, as it sounds rather lovely. But, more emphasis on the bassoon would have made this song feel even more alive. Whatever hope is to appear, this song sure does a good job of an introduction.

I haven't heard much from you, but I do hope to hear a lot more!

Author's Response:

Hey, thanks! I'm going to try to make more emphasis with the bassoon. Good ears, my friend thought it was a oboe :D. I'm going to make more of this stuff at the week-end. I got no time though because of a test in school.

You'll hear a lot more. ;)
