Full title- Somewhere in Nevada (Madness Locomotion)
As with my other MAC8 Trembling Madness submission, I spent quite a lot of effort on this. I'll say now that most of it was trying to get the reese how I wanted it. I started off slicing up some breaks and playing around with some rhythms, and the first thing I got together was the hat pattern you can hear almost all the way through the song. It had a train like pulse to it, and I worked with that, adding some more percussive loops to add to the "train" effect, and a few more to get a heavier Drum n Bass drum beat. I added a FL stock sample pad pitched quite high for ambience, and so it became a rhythmical squeal of the wheels on the tracks. In fact the other instruments were samples too, that were tweaked and played around with and chucked into the mixer (a little more tidy than that, though), so the only thing that wasn't a FL preset was the bass, which was made from the 3xOsc. The effects were all FL native too, so nothing in the whole song was from outside FL. Pretty cool, huh? And I'd like to think it's pretty original sounding, too.
Now, Krinkels, why hasn't there been a killer fight scene in one of your Madness Combats?

A bit more natural to the Madness vibe, I hope you enjoy this track.
Cheers!

Excuse me for that, great work, epic, like a final boss kinda thing, you're making me want to get into DnB, I might try it, a good sidetrack from classical.

Thanks, man. I've actually got a new electronica type thing in the works that should be done soon... otherwise, I'll just post it unfinished.

"Nice trubute"

I think this could be taken as a nice tribute to the backing tunes that go along with the Madness Combat series. The only problem is that it doesn't have enough bass for my liking, which is a shame, since you've got a lot of the rest of it right, with a fast paced tempo, that would suit the movements and kill speed of Hank, Jesus and the Clown.

Maybe include part of the tune where the bass is the only thing for about 20 seconds, give us the feel of the beat, as the character in the piece would take stock of the situation - how can I kill all of these without breaking a sweat? Sort of thing.

Author's Response:

Hehe, the bass seems to still be a bit of a problem with quite a few of my songs lately, I guess I just need to work on it more and try and get something happening out of it.
Cheers, man.

I like how the song builds up. First 30 seconds are pretty quiet, but slowly there are more parts added.

I really like the melodies you used here. They are very catchy. Also, the beats create a dense atmosphere.

I'm not sure if this fits into a madness movie (I haven't watched that many anyway), but it defenatly fits to a big fighting scene.

Author's Response:

Yeah, I think I'm getting pretty good with creating an atmosphere now, but as for specific themes, I'm still trying to get those down. I just write, and follow an instinct, which ends up being different from my original goal. Thanks for the review.
