I was really inspired by the original Melancholy Mines (from Donkey Kong Country 2 for the SNES) to create this new mix I have right here. The original song is an amazing composition done by Dave Wise (a Rare musician)... yes, a *rare* one indeed. Heheh. Go take a look at the original song, and you'll probably see where my deep enthusiasm came from. Enjoy the mix! Thanks! =]

I dont really recall all the songs from DKC2, but this def sounds like something you would hear from that game, in a more modern name ( which I supose is why its call modern mmix lol) 10/10 5/5

Very very good. Love how you incorporated a hiphop/trance feel in this. It's pretty sweet.
Especially when you slow the beat during the, well I call it, 'The Build-Up' of the song.
I've always loved the song at the Mines..that and the Vine place..(Don't know if you have any idea what you're talking about.)
And I agree with you with the "rare musician". Now-a-days people are focusing more on Nobuo Uematsu (and I won't fret, I love the guys music myself), but I do know that I practically loved ALL the songs on the DK games.
Anyway..strung out review XD, thanks so much for putting your twist on an already awesome song!
P.S.-I don't know what it is at from 1:31 to like 1:36, that glitch was highly annoying (I know it goes with the song). Otherwise, nice job man.

Hey, thanks a lot for your review. I know what you're talking about. I listen to the DK music quite a bit, and find myself listening to the Mining Melancholy piece the most.
Also, the 1:31 to 1:36 pattern annoys me too, so I am probably going to re-upload the MP3 (not the entire submission) with that drum pattern either changed or removed. I was trying to get that feel from the original piece, but it just isn't happening with these sounds.

i have always loved-loved-loved the music from all donkey kong games. the effect here is phenomenal. it has a very crisp sound, even tonalities...well done! i listened to it about 3 times in a row. first song on this site to have made me do so. congrats.
