Easy Listening - Classical

Author Comments

I recently read a user post that the Song of Storms (aka, Windmill Hut) does not mix with the Classical genre. Keeping that in mind, I set out to make this song and hopefully convince people otherwise.

This specific arrangement is for solo piano and incorperates the Serenade of Water in both the intro and outro. I was very liberal in my remixing of the source material, but the original melody is hidden in there somewhere. ;)

I feel as though this is my best piano work to date. I worked on multiple edits before getting this to its current state and recieved invaluable advice from multiple people. I have always had difficulty building climaxes but feel quite satisfied for once. Also, I finally figured out how to accurately work tempo changes. There is no way I could have worked some of the fermatas if not for learning this tempo change technique.

I put a great deal of effort into this and would appreciate any comments. Advice and criticism is welcome so long as you are not blatently rude. As always, I read and respond to every single review.

Thank you for listening,

Very nice arrangement. It's just a well crafted piece. I kind of wish you have a live performance - it's a little mechanical. It's not too bad, though - it still comes across quite well.

Awesome work.

BlazingDragon responds:

I know what you mean about the live performance. It sounds very quantized. My piano skills are improving though and I'll likely be playing more of my pieces in time. Thanks for the review!

I just wanted to thank you for this beautiful work. I've been coming back to it on and off for a couple of years now, and each time has been a wonderful and helpful experience. I understand your thoughts on how music is an intimate thing. It truly is. Music can touch our hearts like no words, pictures or physical things can... I felt compelled to leave you a comment this time around... I think I just really want to say thanks. This wonderful piece of music has helped sooth my soul through troubled times... So thank you... Thank you...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a beautiful and articulate comment. Reviews such as yours inspire me to compose when I begin to question the value of writing music. They show me that lives are being touched, and that provides me with ambition to keep going. Thank you again.

For roughly four years now I have been listening to your song as a source of emotional inspiration and a conduit for wisdom. I have listened to this art on trips up and down the United States. And all I have to say is thank you for the inspiration. This song is a perfect merge of two wonderful melodies.

Your adoring fan,

BlazingDragon responds:

Composing music has always been a very intimate experience for me; just me and the keyboard, transcribing my emotions and thoughts into tones. So it was initially really tough uploading my compositions as personal as they are. It's like exposing myself and becoming vulnerable. It still amazes me that people listen to what I have on Newgrounds and enjoy it. That makes me feel happy and humbled. Thank you. :)
