*Edit: DJ Ruqal = DJ Quarl. It's an anagram. Check out my myspace page :P

I've changed the name of the song because I think I'll get better reviews by doing so. I love anagrams.

I need to get new monitors. I've been mixing for the last two years on headphones and I just realized the other day how stupid that was. Any suggestions?

"sounds like Driver"

date: August 11, 2008

i found that synth string a bit repettetive so eventually hearing the song after 1 minute it gets anoying.
maybe you should crossfade that piece into a chorus.
i thought this was a breakbeat but you calld it drum n bass.
if you play the game Driver it kinda sounds like the music from there.
listen to skeet by Cheshyre,
maybe it'l inspire you somehow and give you an ideah.

"nice amen"

date: August 4, 2008

I dont care if that breaks overused, wish it all had a bit more speed though, definetly liked that freak vocal transition and synths. I just wished it was 30 bpm faster or sumthing :p

Author's Response:

lol. rawr. To be honest, only 1/3rd of the snare is the amen. I layered it to try and give it a different sound. It's just so prominent though. Bass kick was made by layering several other completely different kicks. Meh.

"cliche is gay,so stay away (from it) :d"

by: durn

lol, that amens drum break is so over-used dude. it died back in the 90s and should've stayed buried!

as for some good monitor speakers, if you're not looking to break the bank I'd highly recommend picking up some m-audio studio monitors. pretty cheap and good quality for the price. :)

Author's Response:

This is a pretty abusive review mate. Really, how do you expect me to improve if all you have to say is "cliches are gay?" I'll have you know that everything is a cliche whether you think so or not. Drums in a mix? Pshhh, gay.

*Edit: Thanks for the advice on monitors though.
