Andante for violin accompanied by orchestra in F minor.

This song is for a special someone. I have not seen her for over two years, for she left the continent.
She is the one who inspired me to compose music in first place, deep inside I have dedicated every single song to her.
But this song is especially thinking about her. Thinking about the best moments of our lives, thinking how much I miss her and how hard is living without her.
We still talk to eachother. Using the phone or internet, we comunicate almost everyday. But still...

Violin is chosen on purpose. She loves the violin.

This is for you, Raquel.

Instruments used:
Violin solo
Harp
Glockenspiel
Celesta
Glass harmonica
Violin I & II

I must say, this is one of the best audio portal peices I've ever heard. I would love to use this in a flash animation.

Author's Response:

I'd love that animation ;)

Thanks a lot.

"A work of art."

date: July 30, 2008

This peace reminds me of Mona lisa's smile. The harp complaments the orchistra very well. The only problem is the ending; it just doesn't seem like it's fineshed. but all in all a gret song.

keep it up!

Author's Response:

Thanks a lot! :D

Ending sucks indeed.
Once I get a better notation sofware (like sibelius) I'll make a proper ending for this song, maybe expand it. The one I have right now is really laggy when using a lot of instruments and I'm not even using a full orchestra :(

"Uhuh."

date: July 29, 2008

I am repeating my self way to many times in all these Mac- 08 July contest reviews.. The songs sound all the same with harps, pianos, and the rest of the instruments in them. It just wasnt very original. I liked the beginning tune and the masin song itself.. but didnt like it for the Mac o8 July contest. Sorry. Great song though, and keep it up because you will get tons of fans.

Author's Response:

I started composing the song when they announced the contest, but then I ended up composing it for somebody else. I miss her and I did printed that feeling into this song. Did you even listened to the music as a whole? Melody? Harmony?... anything besides what instruments I'm using?

On the other hand, what exactly is original for you?
Do you know what happened back at the children lullaby contest? There were some people claiming their songs were real original and actually standing a chance of winning, but the truth was that none of these songs would fit as a lullaby song, not for anybody's children.

Guess what happened? The songs that weren't "original" at all actually spotted top places (Me in third :D).

What I mean is, this isn't a -let's throw something "original" in there but not totally fitting or barely fitting at all- contest. This is a sad -sorrow contest. Songs are supossed to sound sorrowful and you cannot bash every classical song out there for the mere reason it already is "unoriginal".
In the end, SAD and well written music is the one spotting top places.

Glad you liked it though

"nice, sad, memories"

by: getcha
date: July 25, 2008

I like the sound but I somehow agree with Mcewthom - maybe one more instrument would be very nice to fill the few spaces.
But on the other hand it works nice the way it is so.... oh, I can't really decide ;)
Have u "shown" the special-one this song?

July 27, 2008

Author's Response:

Maybe one more instrument so you can hear the countermelody in the last segment. I can only hear it because I wrote it, but now I can see it's hard for everybody else.

I also want to make this longer, 1:30 just won't do...
But Finale gets laggy once it reach certain amount of notes. Now I have to wait like five seconds to write a single note.
I might as well write it apart.

And yes, she already listened to it. She was the first one, and she loved it.

Thanks for reviewing!

*UPDATE*

I noticed the strings volume was too low. Fixed.
