SkyMarshall Arts - Resident Evil
Released July 16th. 2008

Produced by Eirik Blodøks Hafskjold [SkyMarshall Arts]
Produced in FLStudio 7 XXL, ReNoise and Adobe Audition 1.5.
Vocals ripped from introduction in the movie "Resident Evil" DvD.
VST instruments used was reFX Vanguard and Nexus, Korg Legacy and Ravity(S).
Partially a remix of both "Soldier's Story" by SkyMarshall Arts and "The Lonely One" by Alice DeeJay [Dj Jürgen].

Ok, so here you got a new one. Originally scrapped and abandoned like the rest of the latest projects, but this one I actually managed to finish. Im not all to happy with it, but it was too much work to just throw away - so here it is. The intention was to remix one of my old FastTracker-songs called "Soldiers Story" into a 2008 version - but that never happened. Instead it became a Resident Evil-inspired hybrid between my original song and Alice DeeJays "The Lonely One" because they had rediculously similar pads and bassline. So I combined a little, and this was the result.

Enjoy ... or hate :)
Until next time ...

- Eirik [SkyMarshall Arts] c",)

"Awesome"

date: August 22, 2008

I can just imagine a Horde (700+) of zombies marching to this and a huge armored vehicle driveing through them. It would make a good flash.

Author's Response:

Haha that would make a good flash. Thanks for the brainstorm and 10 man=)

"Finally, something new!"

date: August 2, 2008

Excellent man, really excellent! I can hear the Alice Deejay song in there, as well as a few melodies I don't know (which I'm guessing are the melodies for Soldiers Story?). This is definitely not what I expected though. The fact that it has resident evil vocals and material in it sounds kinda... well, odd. I was expecting something dark and intense because of the name, not a remix of an Alice Deejay song. Still very enjoyable, but I must say that I was a little dissapointed that it wasn't something dark. Great job nonetheless!

Author's Response:

Thanks for yet another excellent review man:) There is most def noticable amounts of Alice Deejay in there, and yes - there is a fair amount of my own original "Soldier's Story". I wont upload that one, since it is a FastTracker 2.08 production, and not good enough to spread on this site. At least the audio quality is not up to it. Anyway, I agree it got a little to happy for the Resident Evil theme - but I think it worked out okay enough. But yes, when you mention it - I kinda wish I had gone for a more fitting darker theme. But maybe next time, plenty of dark stuff out there to inspire another go at the whole thing. Maybe the next RE-game gets me going once again.

Glad you like it, thanks a bunchie lad :)

"It's good, very good!"

date: August 1, 2008

Alright, I was browsing your profile and I just had to write a review. Not really to talk about this particular song which is very good. I basically don't understand how all your songs are getting low scores like this. I have a feeling you've got one or several people on your tail just downing you to hell. Is it because of the success you got with Forever Gamer? Jealous people everywhere. Who knows.
It's a good thing you still get a lot more listens than the average person here though, no matter the score. In the end, it's all about the reviews, not the "Current Score" to the left of the screen. So yeah, don't think you suck or anything, you're very talented.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the 10 and the great feedback here. About the low scores, I dont know - maybe I've pissed somebody off somwhow or something. Dont really know what I have done to do so, but hey - what can I do about it. My guess is that perhaps "Forever Gamer" got a little to popular for a while - and someone with zero ability in making music felt the need to tear down the score to progress in the charts themselves. See that happen a lot in here.

But then again - who the hell cares! Honest feedback and scores from guys and girls like you are the only thing that make an impact on me. So maybe thats a solution in the AP - to remove the voting alltoghether - and base the score on the once-an-account review score. I dont know ...

But thanks for the support man =)
Motivation enough to squeeze out another track here!

"just a no"

by: Bim22

i am sorry man, but all you did was add that resident evil voiceclip, and copy Alice Deejay - The Lonely One, it wasnt just similar, it was kinda just the same song with barely notisable changes, sorry man but i like the song though, VERY extremely well made, but just to much alike Alice Deejay's track :-/

but dude, you got skills, no offense =]

August 1, 2008

Author's Response:

Haha, as I started to read I thought you said I JUST added vocals to the original, 'cause Jesus F Christ that would be wrong. Its built up from scratch. But yes, you feel what you feel ofcourse. But I know (since Ive been making it) that the only similar thing in this are the bass-line and parts of the main chorus. Other than that its new. But thanks for the review man. Appreciate a long honest one.

And thanks for the "skill"-remark ... confidence boost right there :)
