This is Michael's Theme from a few short themes that I will be releasing later,
this is made after I took some new Music Theory lessons, which I had NO idea helped so much.
If your interested, this is made with a I-iii-VI-I chord progression on Cmaj
This is also my second entry for this month's MAC contest

Edit: I did make a longer version but it is farther a different song than anything, and is not very fair I beleive,

If any of the judges or contestants read this, and they liked the song, I would reccomend checking out

The Captain's Theme

Which is the full version

Please review, and enjoy!

Peace

"Another piano song ehh?"

date: July 30, 2008

Well not very original I'll tell you that.. but a beautiful piece non the less. Sounded like it could be used in a movie.

yeah.. it is an excellent loop mah brother. Grat job! I hate to tell you though... i dont think this will win the Mac 08 contest simply because every other one sounds like this lol. But the fact it is a loop makes all the difference. :)

Author's Response:

Thats cool, I figured it was the same pretty much; and I probably should'ave been a little more patient when submitting to the MAC but meh, its my first one :D
Thanks for the great review! Glad you liked it! :D

"Bringing my high."

Really uplifting, especially in the middle of the song. Very inspirational somehow because of the chord progression. It's a little sad because it's a short loop, but still great to listen to.

"Theme"

I agree with Darkside in that it's a bit short and needs a tad bit of an ending. Good god you could expand on this so much and you need to let me know if you upload a revised version of this. It does end abruptly and I think you should expand on it there. The chord progression is awesome and the melody you choose melds really well with all the instruments you used (I really liked the horn).

I really just want you to expand on this because it's so great by itself and I think it can be better. The quality is great and the piano is top-notch. Did you play this and record it, program it, or sequence it?

Hmmm I-III-VI-I I'll have to take a look into that.

Great job, let me know if you update this, off to check your other submission.

Author's Response:

Hey Sin thanks for the review!
I will be expanding on this soon, the same with a few of my other tracks.
When I was recording the piece, I was only able to record one hand at a time (until I get something bigger than 25 keys, I'll keep doing this), but the rest of it was played and recorded.
Its a great chord progression, the Minor really sticks out which I like;

Michael can be anybody to be honest, I just wrote it as a theme for any kind of flash game/movie alike.

Thanks again!
Will check out your submission to the MAC as well,
Peace

"Way too short!"

date: July 22, 2008

I know I know...A theme is short in general...though, this doesn't sound like a theme because there is no end. It kind of stops. But that's really the only let-down here. The soundquality is very nice. The piano has a very very gentle sound. It also reminds me a little of FF-7, which insaneclownjoe already pointed out.

I think it's a little too short to score in the contest but that's just me. Composition wise this was a job well done! 5'd!

Author's Response:

Yea the lenght was really something I wasn't all too happy about; to be honest I'm not all that worried about this scoring too high in the MAC this month; there'll be plenty of those to come, my main purpose here was really to get some of my music out there, and it has done so! :-D

Although I am hoping "The Darkest Place of All" gets far, I tried to do something a little different there.

Thanks a ton for the review!
Peace

"Reminds me a lot of FF7"

date: July 18, 2008

Lucky for you, I LOVE that game. Hopefully in time I can get my piano playing skills up to what you're using. I dunno. It sounds wonderful!
