I need to point out something straight away... the music on this track was created entirely by FarCryDX. He has made some very dark and gutsy metal tracks that you should check out if you have the time. Search for FarCryDX or you can find a link to him on my Favorites page.

I decided to have a crack at some death growls over one of his constructions "Welcome to Hell". This is what I've come up with. My vox are a tad sloppy here and there on the double-ups... I only did a couple of takes, partly because this was never intended to be super-tight, and partly because my throat went red-raw very quickly! Hope you enjoy...

But if your throat was red-raw during it, then you're not doing it right. You shouldn't have to experience pain while growling.

I personally liked the song alot. I think it would have been a little better if you sang a tad bit faster.

yeah, well... it was the first song i actually recorded, as opposed to mucking around and growling with some music. The soreness came from several hours of extended growling as i tried to get the recording setup right and so on... I reckon i would've been sore even if i'd been doing lullabyes (for that amount of time).

yeah... the speed... it's a bit like samael or something, this one.

"Wow, only a few takes?"

Man, you need to take some time and realize your true potential some time. As usual, you manage to a really badass job with your vox. FarCryDX is an exceptional artist and I wish he would do more songs like skullfucked and fucking metal. Actual that gives me an idea. Would do a vocalized version of fucking metal? That would kick donkeys into space through the moon!

actually, i'm working on one of his new tracks as we speak (type, whatever). When it comes to FC's music, nothing is off the table. He's got talent in bucketloads. And it's a metal bucket.
