NOTE: Just a quick heads up! You may have to turn up the volume a bit on this one. It is a bit on the quiet side (Unless my speakers are simply terrible and/or broken).

Before someone inevitably asks, the answer is no; this is not Naruto. It isn't related to the song "Sadness and Sorrow" on Naruto, nor did I even watch the anime at the time I wrote this. That is a great song, but this is completely unrelated aside from the coincidental sharing of titles. :P

Now that we've got that out of the way, on to the actual commentary. I wrote this piece long ago, and I've come a long way musically since then. However, I have received several requests to remake this song. I've added a VERY simple intro, a nicer piano soundfont, some strings, and I've tweaked the volume in a few spots. I think it sounds a lot better, but you can compare if you'd like.

Anyhow, I look forward to your comments! I would love to know your opinion, how I might improve this, or even what you imagine as you listen to this music. I read and respond to every review, so don't shy away! XD

Thanks in advance, and enjoy. :)
~Blaze

PS. I really need a decent strings sample for free. I have been using the string soundfont that comes with the FL Studio demo, but I can't stand it anymore. Know of any good samples for free?

Watch the news!

watching the news.
Japanese government has enlarged the evacuationradius around the damaged nuclear powerplant from 10 to 20 km!
Cars were tossed around like toys.
Trains dissapeared.
Bridges and highways are gone..
Once again, i've come to realize: were completely helpless against natures' wrath.
Great song.

It's astounding that even one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world is relatively defenseless against the wrath of nature. I find it humbling, really. Thanks for the review.

Incredible, just incredible.

I've come up for a movie involving this, and anyone who sees this can make it. It's flixel, and it's just flashes of text saying things like "He knew he couldn't save her, but he felt that she was his one responsibility, his on true connection to life. He felt that he deserved to be with her more." It then pans out to reveal the writing on a tombstone. I'm not very good in flash, so anyone can make this.

That's depressing, but fitting to the music. Thank you for the scene!

Moving.

Few songs can move someone like this one can. The piano playing is beautiful and I think this can connect with a moment in life that everyone has experienced. It really gave me the chills, and it is one of the few songs I don't believe can be improved upon.

Emotionally Affecting

I've heard many piano pieces before, and each brings a different emotional quality to the table. There are those that tug at your heart and make you want to cry, others are there to get you fired up for a battle, some bring a smile to your face when you hear it among others.

This piece though, it tells a story since I feel a pouring out of a sorrowful memory from the distant past. A memory that you would wish to forget but at the same time, cannot help but cling onto it and remember it constantly. The story would sound this way...

The boy stood atop the cliff that overlooked the vast blue waters. The wind was very quiet, the dark clouds hung heavily upon the sky and the waters were very still. All he held was the seashell that was given to him long ago, believing that someday, the one who gave it to him would return. But he knew deep inside, that the one he held dearest to him could never return to this, the place where they created their first memories of each other.

This one is definitely going into my playlist.

BlazingDragon responds:

Man, what intensely vivid imagery. I can smell the salt of the ocean and feel the light, misty breeze that the tide brings. The sound of the waves washing against the sand caresses my ears, and the taste of the moist air meets my tongue. Those dark clouds hang heavily upon the horizon, just has this gray sorrow hangs upon my heart, waiting to rain down and find release. But unlike those clouds, I can't let go of what is inside me. The memory is precious, and yet it produces an impossible yearning. I merely look across the deep blue waters before me, wishing that they could wash away my sorrow. My fist clenches tightly against the seashell, and a heavy tear rolls down the warmth of my cheek. I'm alone, and in this solitude I weep.

Your story inspires creativity within me. Thank you for the fantastic review, friend.
