This is a song I composed after someone I was very close to died. It was my cousin who I grew up with when I was young; one whom I felt was more like a brother than anything. He joined the Army, became a Specialist and a tank driver, and got sent over to Iraq. You can probably guess what happened afterwards. He was killed in action. I was devastated when I heard of his death. He and I had been talking via email a few weeks before his untimely death about him getting out soon. He was going to go buy a truck with some of his money he earned from the Army, and come visit me and my girlfriend (now my wife). I was so looking forward to him coming home....

After he died, I went down to Louisiana for the funeral & to spend a few days with the family to mourn. That wound up becoming two weeks, as there was so much more family present, and everyone was hit incredibly hard by the loss...I needed more time to mourn than I thought. Anyways, I composed this with heavy sadness in my heart, signifying how hard I was hit, and how empty I felt afterwards. However, there's a hint of happiness within, signifying my eventual acceptance of his death, and realizing that he is now in a better place with our common brother Jesus, and that they both will be up there waiting for when I am eventually called back home.

Beautiful

This is one of the most sad but beautiful pieces I've ever listened to. I am very sorry for your loss. This piece is just overwhelmingly emotional and I can tell that you really put a lot of work into this. Definantly 10 out of 10.

Incrediable

I am very sorry for your loss. I can understand how you felt; myself having lost a friend and my father all in the same month.

What you have made is amazing. I can actually feel your sadness. It's overwhelming to be honest.

I'm a bit lost for words now, eh.

I hope you continue making music. You have a great gift. Take care and God bless, friend.

Amazing

I read your story through and though it is truely touching, your music expressed it all in a way that words can't. I hope that you do find that peace of mind and I'm glad you are sure in the fact that he has gone to a better place. best of luck.
