I'm in a high school drumline. In fact, I'm the cymbal leader! (Go me!) Of course, that's while I'm here. I'm most likely going to be moving somewhere else due to financial issues. (BOO!)

But that's another story. I asked Jake, our drum adviser, if I could make a cadence. He replied, "I dunno, can you?"

So, on the back of 6th grade music sheets, (which, by the way, is why it's called 6S), leaning on a cardboard box, I wrote a drumline cadence. But my handwriting sucks. So, I looked for a way to put it on my computer and print it off. There were no free alternatives, so with the advice of the trusty Newgrounds community, I got a demo of Finale Allegro. That has some Row-Loff thing that helps make kick-ass drum cadences. But no percussion mapping, so no cymbals. :(

Whatever, the cymbal part is mostly visual, anyway. As for genre, there's no marching, so I just put drum and bass. I'll change it later, if necessary.

"Not bad..."

Not bad at all man, but I think the drums sound kind of cheap...sorry for that XD I know u were just experimenting with it, but if you ever need some good drum samples try searching on google, there are a lot of good drums all over the internet and FREE!

If you're interested, theres a really nice kit called Edirol Orchestral, it gots loads of nice orchestral and march instruments and very nice percussions ; )

I hope it helps!

Peace!

Author's Response:

Cool! Thanks for showing me that! I'm don't think I'll go into marching professionally, so I guess it's overkill to buy something. I have searched all over google, but my main focus was to get this written down and printed out for my drum buddies! If I can get them to play it, there may be a more realistic version of this.

I used Finale Allegro, and the sounds are from Row-Loff. They aren't the most realistic, but it gets the job done.
