This is my first submission to New Grounds!

I create all my music with a Cassio Keyboard and Cakewalk recording software. My recording hardware is limited as I'm not using MIDI right now, so sound quality is a little less than desirable.

The inspiration for this song comes from moments of anxiety, moments where we understand that an event is about to take place. Countless scenarios and possibilities flood our minds in an attempt to "prepare."

I hope you enjoy.

"Great job"

Very well done. I understand what you mean about the soldiers. The only thing that wasn't the greatest about this song is that you don't have a MIDI right now, but that doesn't make it bad, it just makes it hard to hear the full quality of the song. I wish i could have listened to it when you were recording it. That would have been great.

Another thing that didn't fit with the song was its genre. I don't think classifying as ambient was the greatest choice. But you can still change that by going to my account and editing the song. You should change the genre to classical if you have a chance. It will be great to hear more of your work in the future. Good luck with more of your songs!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for your comment - I agree entirely about the genre. I don't really have any formal music training and wasn't sure that it would really fit as classical. I wish there was a "film score" category...

Thanks for your support. I plan to get MIDI set up really soon, and I'll post more songs then.

Cheers,

Megan

"Gasp."

This is one of the best songs I have heard, not only on Newgrounds, but ever. Amazing. Some of the high notes are a little odd, but that's probably just because of the recording software. If you keep at this, you will become one of the best on here, and it wouldn't suprise me if you got a career doing this. Don't stop making music, you have a lot of talent, and even more potential. 5/5 10/10

"Fantastic"

I agree with the prior review about the high notes. That's not your fault, since the music is still excellent. The energy of the piece works perfectly: muted but not dull, urgent but not rushed.

Hope to hear more from you.

"Calmly Chaotic...Interesting!"

date: June 18, 2008

This tune gives an air of caution and urgency while keeping a soothing flow that makes sure it isn't jumpy. Just enough of a combined image to create a powerful feel that moves you right to the abrupt ending.

I find this one rather nice. Definetely a Good submission for having submitted so few. I think the Audio Portal would love to hear more of your works.
