Enjoy this dnb track!

It was a lot of fun to make, and I learned a lot in the process. It started when Spikrodd sent me this reese thingy. It was really some sawtooths with distortion and a vocoder, for some reason. I filtered it down to some distorted sawtooths, for kicks, and then I saw something in it. Hours and many filters later, I finally got something like a reese.

Drums were processed heavily, and layered many times in the process of finding the right combination of sounds. I eventually settled for a break from this breakbeat tune I've been working on, plus some other .rex and a snare that I had hanging around. I added some reverb, followed by light distortion, and I got this sound. I think it works.

Pads are timestretched in the intro, and sampled later on in the tune, as shit like that is TOUGH to synthesize. Plus, it saves me ram and processor power, which I needed for the mastering effects chain (EQ->stereo enhancer->multiband compressor->compressor->l imiter). I think its turning out well! I'll finish the second drop and the outro, but I'm not going to post them here, for safety reasons.

Enjoy! :)

EDIT: Full Version now up. However, I scrapped the song as a whole and I'll just let y'all here what I did. Enjoy. Sorry for low quality.

Nice li'l roller you have here, i would just like some more percussion in between the snare and kick, to add some depth and to fatten the drums up. Great snare, btw.
I really want to know the process of the reece there. what kind of filters and stuff did you put on? idk, i would just like to know just so i could experiment. ill talk to you on aim or something ;]

There is literally nothing bad about this song. The drums are loud - but hell - there is nothing wrong with that!

I bet this song is going to be a classic soon...

"Nice and CLEAN drum line!"

This is the stuff I like! I'll prolly never get close to that -- my (posted) attempt at a drum pattern is no where near this quality!

PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Author's Response:

Haha, there are no chords. I just sampled a bunch of pads, then timestretched them.

Yeah, I canceled this song anyways, so I wasn't expecting people to care. Thanks for the review! :)
