I found remixing "This is Halloween" to be quite enjoyable, so I decided to try it again. This time I did Clint Mansell's epic "Lux Aeterna," heard in Requiem for a Dream and the end credits for Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. I absolutely love this song, and I hope that you guys like my more classical take on it. Also, this barely squeaked into the portal, 5:15 and 6.1 mb :O And, as with all of my remixes (well, my only other remix), I played the main piano piece myself. Enjoy!

EDIT:
After listening to this play on NG, I realized that the playback volume is considerably louder than it was when I recorded it. This means that the song will get a bit choppy if you turn the volume up too high when you listen. If you are experiencing any choppiness, lower the volume and replay the distorted part.

SECOND EDIT:
I lowered the tempo and changed the instrumentation a bit near the end.

It is VERY relaxing and thats what I love about classical music (that should be the point, right?) I think all the intruments sounded great with eachother, cant wait to hear more!

Yeah, I'm not gonna be doing any more remixes any time soon. I've got this *really* big song project that I'm working on right now. You might not see it on the portal any time soon though, I still have a lot of work to do on it ;)

"OH NONONONONONOOOOO!!! :(("

Clints songs don't need remixes! They are perfect just as they are. :/
I'm so sorry for writing such a "bad" review, but I loike your orininal songs MUCH better!
Believe me Ubertuna.
What I like are the new melodies and variations that you brought in! ^^
But still: Keep making your own music. :(

Author's Response:

Ok, I just thought I'd have a little fun remixing a couple songs :) I have three new songs in the works, plus I'm taking a crack at one of kjhf's songs, so don't worry about my original work :P

Edit: When I said "taking a crack at it" I meant that I was helping him out with it, not remixing it :P

"Needs better string patches."

date: June 5, 2008

Love this song.
Great remix.
String patches were a tad annoying. I would suggest picking up the East West Symphonic Orchestra patches, they will make this remix blow people away.
(not that it isn't already)

Loved it.
Looking forward to more.

Thankyou!
I found some samples of those patches on the web, they sound AMAZING. I'm probably going to update this with a piano that sounds less like rhodes, and I will DEFINITELY update each and every one of my songs with those strings if I decide to get them, but they do seem a little pricey. I'm saving up for Reason 4.0 right now, those will be next on my music list. Maybe if I get hired to score another short film I'll use some of the money to get those :P
