"We are the final Guardians, the last hope of humankind, the warriors of light, the fury of the golden storm. If you stand with us, fear not, we shall protect you. But if you stand against us, prepare to get your a** kicked."
Ahem. Err... now for a description.
My second attempt at a rock song, with some violins thrown in. While fiddling around with another song, I accidentally stumbled upon those background rhytmic plucks among my soundfonts that I've wanted for so long. So I opened a new song, put together a bassline using them and the rest came with it easily. It ended up sounding pretty generic, but I'm glad I could at least achieve a rocklike sound :P This is the best guitar quality I was able to force out of the pretty crappy guitar presets I have, forgive me if it still doesn't sound acceptable to some. I used some distortion to make it sound more realistic, I think it came out ok.

Classical tied in with Rock, in my humble opinion, is hard to not have come out at the very least decent. Oi~ I would've loved a better guitar as you mentioned, but what can you do. :P I definitely liked the violin though! Almost think you should make the violin have a solo in there too. I was almost expecting it at ~1:10. Guitars always get all the fun, but the guitar came out well in its solo. I would say that was a success for a second attempt. Well done.

Author's Response:

Well, not the violin was the tricky part ;) It's the default Reason marcato violin. A completely 'stock' Reason without any extensions is capable of producing perfect classical songs in the right hands... But it can't do proper rock by default, and even though I have downloaded an unbelievable number of soundfonts and instrument patches from all genres, I hardly found more than a couple of rock guitars among them, and even those are less than mediocre without some tweaking. So this is what I could manage :P Thanks for the review.

Very well paced and perfectly played. The song is quite tense, action packed, and of high spirits. The violin compliments the guitar very well (or is that the other way around?). I'm amazed this is your second rock song. It sounds like you've been doing this for a long while. Superb work.
