Ok, I spent almost 4 hours making this song. I finally figured out to work the reverb effects thing. I really hope you enjoy this one, because to me, it sounds like something a pro remixer would make

Ok you got the right idea.

I like how you structured it. It does have that cool "hip" beat, it's got a bit of detail. But unfortunately the instrument selection ain't the best. And I'm not gonna be a hippocrate, cause I do the same thing and I know it lol. But it sounds like the program you're using is uber-retro. New program/equipment needed, eh? Again, I'm the same way. I use some program from 2006. Kinda sad yeah but I been broke for the longest time. XD

Keep it up. I'm likin what I hear

=PS=

BallinFatty responds:

right now i'm using FL studio 8, sadly, its only the demo version. i have no idea where/how to get a legit copy, plus, im pretty broke too. i try to make do with what i got. this is one of my older tracks. i honestly have no idea how this is the most popular of all my tracks. i have lots of songs out there that are way better than this.

what program do you use?? the quality of what i heard so far surpasses mine by a long shot

anyways, thanks for the review, 9, and your time in listening. oh yea, and you probably figured it out, but this is the song that refered me to yours...

It's so...ironic! :D

BP should play this as they are cleaning up the massive ocean of oil they caused out in the Gulf! :D Great job! :)

4 hours? How about a couple more?

I'm pretty impressed that this track only took you a whole 4 hours to complete. I think you could have done some more with the reverb and sketch with this one. I like the retooling of this classic Sonic level. As I am a Sonic fanboy, respect goes for choosing a Sonic theme. As I am a musician, I have to tell you that I think you could have done a little better. You did good, but I think if you'd put a little bit more time into it, you would have done a LOT better. I think you should check your drums and sketch a little, as I heard a random click or two (or maybe my mind is still a little fried from the lack of sleep). If you put 4 hours of work into this one, I would really love to see what 8 or even 12 hours of work would net you. It's hard to find true mixing talent these days, and you're showing me some potential. I really can't give this one a 10/10. You did technically remix the song, but you didn't make it your own remix. Kinda see what I'm saying here? Make it yours. Make a unique track, while still paying homage to the original. You have the potential, you just need to apply it to your music. As you didn't really wow me, I can't really give this a 9, either. It is pretty cool sounding, but really a different remix. I was a little deflated while litening to it, because it started off pretty awesome, but stayed on that plateau throughout. I DID give you a 5/5 for showing your talents in only 4 hours of work.

BallinFatty responds:

thanks. the reason it took 4 hours, is because i have the demo of FL studio 8, so saving the work is out of the picture. also, logging off closes it out. so usually when i make a song, i try to pick a time where i know i can stayed logged on for more than a day. family of four, i cant hog the comp... idk if you've listend to anything else i've posted after this song, but i seem to be showing some improvement. i was actually thinking about coming back and taking another shot at this one. i've been practicing with little 35-50 second loops that would be fit for a zelda dungeon or something of that sort. some of them are pretty catchy too. so i'm thinking that if i do decide to redo this, it will be better, completely different, and will be my own remix. i will definitly try this again now at some point

anyways, thanks again for the review, 7, and your time in listening!! glad you enjoyed it!
