It's sort of a classical/funk loop that is somewhat miscellaneous as well..
I'm not really sure when it comes to my type of music!
This an unfinished work expected to be complete no later than June 2, I'm hoping. I'm actually aiming for the last day of this month.
Anyway, enjoy :D

EDIT: Yeah, this is as far as it goes..

"Unexpected"

by: Hades
date: June 27, 2008

I must say I never thought that the guitar would go that way, it was an interesting twist on a melody which was to be expected for the continuation of the song. A bit psychedelic, but with a nice violin melody and cool atmosphere. If I had to object, it would be about the cut-out sound of the violin at the beginning, unless that's what you were aiming for.

Really cool song, liked it!

Author's Response:

I was aiming for a funky twist with a blend of instruments that would all do their own thing :P
Thanks again!

i see a lot of my style in this peice, im enjoying it. I listen to bands like the mars volta, it reminds me of omars guitar style.. kind of unorthodox but not too much so it sounds real good.

keep at it :)

"Trippy."

date: June 13, 2008

It sounds real funky, in a good way. There is such a huge variety in the instruments which really adds a nice punch to it. It flows really nicely, and seems to have an all around trippy attitude. I really like the ending though, with the sudden emergence of the new instrument(violin?). I have to disagree with the previous review though, since I believe that vocals would ruin the piece, but that might just be me.

Author's Response:

Yeah..I never really plan for vocals in my songs (except for FY; I wasn't sure about that one), so I understand how you might feel about its addition.
And I was sort of aiming for that kind of funk--I'm not really good at making the funk that most people hear :P
Oh yeah, and that's a violin. I'm hoping to finish this fairly soon, maybe by the end of this month..? Anyway, thanks for all the awesome reviews on my songs. They really help :)

"This is what is known as Great Success!"

date: May 28, 2008

Alright, first off, name it 'Rugged Rainbow'. It's pretty crazy, no doubt, but I can still feel what it's all about. Don't give up on it, not when you've already done so much. Let's see... I really like what you have so far, up to the last few seconds which sound incomplete and probably are. I guess to keep going forward I would just ask you to keep mixing up the instrumentation. You could pretty much use anything at this point, like acoustic guitar? Bass has already been addressed; I'd just like more of that. Maybe a vocalist?
Get a really low alto to sing this:

Dancing in the rain, water doesn't stain
Let the light surround me, onto the refrain
Wrestle with a cloud, falling down below
All you get is a rugged rainbow

It'll be a winner, I promise.

Author's Response:

Hey, Patrick! Those are wonderful lyrics. Although I can't really see them fitting into this particular song, there's a high chance I might use them in another song. It's just that I can't seem to merge them together. If you are able to record yourself saying/singing the lyrics, it'd be helpful if you can send it to me, just so I can get how you're seeing it.
You're right.. I might add some acoustic guitar in the middle. That'd go.
Anyway, I'm really glad you liked it :D
Two super reviews have got me hyped!
Now I'm probably going to do some major work on it this week..hopefully finish it.

"Kool idea goin' here!"

date: May 26, 2008

Hey man! You got a kool idea goin' here I really think you could build on this. Really, really like the work you've done so far, but it sounds like your bass could be better at some parts and some of your phrase changes are a little messy. But, overall really kool idea, if you fix it up a little you've got a winner here I think.

Author's Response:

Hey thanks, bro.
Yeah, my bass is a little messy at a couple parts, I'm hopin to fix that up.
Thanks again for the input, I appreciate it. Really helped :)
