posted a final version of this. won't go back. i don't feel it's enough to change anyone's minds in the long run, but i feel better about the balance in this mix than i did in the other.

refresher: this is a theme to a stage aptly called "wind tunnel" where you literally run and climb your way through a facility prepping to launch an artificial twister on a cityscape.

thank you for your comments, though. i appreciate any kind of feedback.

"Good guitar, raw synths."

date: June 4, 2008

The build up is pretty nice. The main beat seems pretty rugged in quality. It's still very good, just... raw sounding. The guitar work sounds great, though it's a little lacking in boldness. The way it follows the beat and 'hides' behind it. Still, the parts at 0:06 to 0:17 and 0:55 to 1:10 sounds great - if borderline redundant. The rest of the song flows alright.

The only C&S for this song is to polish up those raw synths... I can tell you didn't put as much work in this as you did other songs.

Author's Response:

i'm almost a week too late for this, as i don't know how the version i just uploaded might change your mind. it probably doesn't, but that's fine with me in the end. it's strange how my most fluid songs are made so quickly, but the ones i have troubles figuring out take much longer. i worked hard at it, but it was never "finished". i uploaded the original after zero sleep for like two days and i made it in a flash, but it never felt right. i got it on the site just to get something on here and actually took it down once, but ended up putting it back on... for some reason. the guitar wasn't originally a main instrument, but it took near the front at the end of the concept. i couldn't do much to them without altering the song too much, so i'm going to call this finished now and take my hits. thanks again.

"Pretty Good"

date: May 10, 2008

It's good, but the synth needs to be less fuzzy. I don't know if it's the frequency offset, or just whatever shape you're using, but it needs toned down: it sounds too windy, even for a tornado. Try giving the bass a bit more in the mix: Sonic music has to be freaking metal-look at live 'n learn.

lol, made in a super-hurry (still no sleep, lolz).

i'll be adjusting the thing here maybe tomorrow to soften out some things, but i'll probably just change some of the synths out for more clarity.
